$2,950 from Sparks seems to be the best price and like DynomyteSW mentioned it will replace the stock air box. Does anyone know when these things are shipping out?

It's not limited to just 40hp. The real question is how much Toyota/TRD is going to let you get away with while still backing their warantee.

i dont see why no one ever says $2950 for 40 horse and rock solid reliability, warranty, and best of all piece of mind!

knowing that your F/I set-up has been set-up, developed, tested, and will be backed (dealer inst. of courae) by Toyota.

i was talking with my friend who owned a VW Turbo that a shop worked on. His 20K VW GTI 337 was fast as all hell but prob costs $60,000 after all the work done to it keeping it maintained, fixing things. He knows nothing about cars but driving them...not to say all turbos run perfect or have problems...

Just that this piece of mind knowing the car has been tested is what is selling me...the only thing not selling me on it is the 91 octane haha i dont wanna imagine what i'd pay if prices go up! ;) And not knowing what the dealer will try to rip you for installing them.

I'm glad i will wait til after winter to get it, that way the dealers have installed them on test dummy cars. I want to know the mechanic knows what he is doing, and good to let him test it on other cars before mine

yeah making sure the tech has done the install properly on a few tc's before yours would be a good idea

^^^ If everyone thinks that way then we'll never get to see the TRD S/C in action. You just have to trust the tech and if something happens you have the warantee to back it up. Common isn't the point all the S/C fans are trying to make is that its backed by Toyota.

yup, backed by toyota is what i want. its the reason i got the tC. As I said in a recent post regarding this yet again, I got my tC because they offered lowering springs and a supercharger. Lowering Springs because my other car i lowered it and no matter how much i tried to fix/align it, it always ate the inner tires from camber. My rear camber seemed off, so i took it in, and they did a 4 wheel alignment free and I didnt even ask for it. I said the backs look a little off, and they said bring it on in and we will re align it.

Why I like the idea of a supercharger from the dealer. Same support would rule!

So the air intake is replaced so you dont need a CAI? Does anybody see the price coming down in a few months?

I don't think an intake will fit (at least without modification) and I don't think the price is going to get lower. They currently corner the market in the supercharger department and unless another company *cough Jackson * produces a S/C then prices will remain the same.

$2950 + $45 or so shipping that http://www.trdsparks.com has is a great price. I think other online retailers charge higher shipping...

And as far as $3K for 40 horses... At least these horses are real, the kit is actually engineered, not rigged - just look at 80 parts that come with the kit including injectors, sparkplugs, new oil pan, heatshield for the header, airbox, airbox snorkel. etc. And blowing unsuspecting RSX completely out of the water without making any aftermarket-exhaust-induced farting noises is priceless.
