Guys, news will come tomorrow, since I had to do other tings. But u already know I got the parts. I have still to test the RX8 TB. I will get it to an electromechanic to see if anything is wrong with it. Just to be sure.

If I get this right, all this kit is going to do is be bolted onto the existing IM? If so then you're not going to notice any diffrence at all unless the IM is ported to match the new TB. I know, I've done this to my 280zx. Just the slight 10mm larger TB has made a great difference. I hope I just missed the part where someone said that the IM will be ported to match the new TB.

i believe that the stock tC intake manifold can only be ported from its stock 55 mm form to 60 mm. the RX-8 TB is 70 mm, and if i remember correctly, the adapter plate is tapered so that it goes from 60 mm to 70 mm.

the "claimed" benefit is that this will increase throttle response. maybe some power increase, maybe not...nobody knows yet. those questions will be answered when soros151 has everything ready.

Well guys, patience, I'm still on the works. I REALLY OPTIMISTIC after seeing the design, and yes, to fully utilize the 70mm to 60mm, the stick IM must be ported, but still, we might see a difference in Response. News will be comming, and I'm working on it. I'm right now at the college, but I have devised the proccess, and there will be plenty of photos to come.

Having a tapered adapter plate isnt going to do anything. It's like sucking air through a funnel. Just because one side is bigger than the other doesnt mean that more air is going to enter the IM. In order for the newer/bigger TB to be effcient the IM has to be matched. I don't understand why you guys don't just port your IM's to 60mm and use a 60mmTB.

Well guys, the Old SL curse has gotten to me. I couldn't get it running, no matter what. I tried installing it 4 times. The kit works, cause it was perfect fit, but my RX8 TB was really frustrating me. I got someone to look at it, and nobody could tell me what was wrong. The thing is there is ppl. with this TB on their cars already, but I couln't make it work. There was no leak, nothing. I still have the how-to install, but it I really couldn't get it working. I know it wasn't the kit, cause it was really well put together. I installed it and as soon as I tried starting the car, it did like if it had a vacuum leak, which it didn't had. The butterfly did open and draw air in, but nothing, it always died once it was ON, no matter what. I used gasket sealant on the provided gasket, I checked the vacuum port, I studied it for a long time. It was REAAALLY easy to install, took me like 20 minutes tops, the first time. Then after, in 12-15 minutes with all the tools established I was able to do it faster. Believe me the kit is awsome, but the TB was a pain in the a$$. I really don't know what else to do, I gave up on this mod, since I couldn't get it working. So, since I checked the TB if it was working, and it is, I really don't care anymore, so I will sell the TB and continue on further to tune my car as it is, with normal Bolt-Ons. If anyone wants to try this u are welcome to talk to the owner/maker of this product. Here u go: http://www.blackdiamondracing.com/

Imagine my deception when I was very happy to get all the pieces connected. It did sound like RAW POWER once it started, but seconds later it shutted off. So I had to install the stock TB.

Hmm so did it idle at all ? maybe something was wrong with the throttle body. You said the butterfly plate closed all the way ?. How was the vacum fitting on the tb was it tight ?. It's a shame if this doesn't work seemed like this would be a good mod.

The kit is well made, and yes, the TB's butterfly did open. It idle for a few seconds (3-4) then shutted off. The vacuums were all in place and correct. Still don't know what was it, maybe it's cause it's my car. I tend to have a lot of things go wrong with what its mine, its like a curse with the important things, lol.
