Then why is it that there are other working units in tCs over at California? The first one did work.

broken canooter valve, or a loose nut between the sterring wheel and the seat. It's probably just a bad unit. is the throttle motor the same dimensions and mounts as the ones on the tC TB?

That's what the kit is for, as for the plug, is EXACTLY like the OEM unit.

i meant the contoller itself not the plug. If you could swap it for the bad one from your tC TB.

That was one of the options, but drilling of the ribbets is neccesary for the swap, I didn't want to risk part of my TB in the process.

For diagnostic purposes couldn't you use this to help determine what exactly is failing?

hey maybe the ecu its not used to so much air going in and you need a fuel upgrade or something you should have gotten a wideband air fuel ratio to see what was going on for those 3-4 seconds thats jus my opinion tho

I have a wideband, and during those seconds it goes right along the stock 14.7 the ECU adapts for.

Did you reconnect your intake tube to your throttlebody before you started the car? If you didnt then the car will not idle because the computer cannot read the air going to the throttlbody because it hasnt passed through the air sensor. Im not trying to be a smartass. I'm just trying to help you troublshoot because im very interested in this mode too.
