Brand New 2AZFE....Anyone know where to get one??
Ok so I bought my 06 tC in may of 08 with 32250 miles on it. It's now the middle of August 09 and I have 150,000 miles on it. I've used the car for a courier job that involved obviously as you can see alot of driving. So right now, obviously the car is worth nothing as far as a trade in goes, and even as a private sale, despite the goodies I have on it (08 headlights w/4300k HIDs, new oem clutch, fidanza 9.5lb flywheel, stoptech d/s rotors f/r, and new general exclaim uhp tires) I still wont get much for it. So I've come to the conclusion that it's best for me to keep this car, and honestly there arent many cars out there that really catch my eye other than the g37, altima coupe, audi a/s5, and bmw 3series. All of which btw I cant afford. Now what I want to do with this car is replace the engine, and after that the transmission. Now I've seen brand new transmissions on ebay for less than $700, what I have not been able to find is BRAND NEW ENGINES. Does anyone know where I can get a brand new 2AZFE? Would the dealer even be able to order something like this? Not saying that I would ever buy it from them because I know they would charge me about $3000 for it, and then like another $2000 for the install. Does anyone know where/if you can get a new engine anywhere for less than 3 stacks???

...wait why do you want to replace the engine. I mean yeah yours has +150000 miles on it, but isnt it still running? If it aint broke dont fix it.
If you've got the cash to throw down for an engine, why not turbo the engine youve got hahah

I'm about 700 miles away from 150,000 on a '07.
Guess what???
Engine's oil, C.E. lights aren't flicking on and off nor oil leaks. I'm not going to replace mine...I'm determine to see how long this engine will last. But the end of this year, I'm saving my bonus' for a new auto transmission. Cost my parents 2,500 to rebuilt their transmission in their Mazda. Figured why not for little more and make sure it can last another 200,000!
vvv That's my plan!

Hey guys,
I dont plan on replacing the engine right now. I am going to do it when I start noticing a significant loss in power, or rattling, or anything like that. I'm just trying to plan for it right now. As soon as I start my new job that I'm in the process of getting now, I'm going to start saving for this stuff. Also I saw a 09 engine on ebay for a buy it now price of $1000, and the seller was even allowing a best offer for it on top of that. The engine only has 9k miles on it. Would a 09 engine be compatible with my car?? I know it's basically the same engine, but would it fit all sensors and everything need to install, or would this be different because of the model year? The only thing I've heard that was changed was the oil you use in the engine....

You don't need new. I did the same thing with my xB, ended up picking up a used engine and transmission for $500 w/ 20k miles on them. A long block from a salvage yard would be only $300-$600. If you're worried about used you could always rebuild it before you install. Pistons, rods, crank, etc. could all be re-used. Main things to swap are bearings, piston rings and all the gaskets and seals.
For the sensors, I have an 06 and the block I bought was an 04. Three of the sensors were changed, however the mounting holes were identical. I just took the sensors off of my "old" 06 and put them on the "new" 04. Everything screwed right in. This was a 1NZ-FE, but should be the same for the 2AZ, 07+ is when they revised the block slightly I believe.

04-06 is the exact same it didn't change until 07+. I don't think anything with sensors, connectors, or accesories changed about the 07 only thing I am aware of is mechanically inside the motor, maf sensor (doesn't matter if you use your 04-06 setup with intake and harness), and header (just a design improvement).

just my $.02 but I say keep the block and when you feel it start to go, just re-build it. and when you do either go all motor {for your work} or boost and save accordingly.
