Default Budget Exhaust (Dropped The Rear Section Of My TC Exhaust)

Hey guys whats up? I decided to drop the rear section of my exhaust today out of curiousity and it actually sounds really good. I was impressed by the sound and it actually made it a little more peppy. The muffler on the TC is a beast so it has to be really restrictive. If you want sound but are on a budget just remove the rear section! It is not loud at all just has a really deep rumble once it is warmed up.

actually it is a very good idea, although you should put a "turn down" pipe on the end so the hot gasses go to the ground, not straight back under your fuel tank...
and yes it sounds killer:
mp3 of 2nd/3rd gears
mp3 of acceleration from a stop <-- the mic clipped pretty hard..

Yes thats right dumbass I am heading in the rice direction. I have bought a $715 Creative Compacts exhaust and I dropped the rear section for a couple of days until it arrives. I was just informing people that it actually sounds good and frees up a little power. You people take things way too serious on here. My car is probably the least ricey of any TC on this board just look at it in the gallery.

Hmm, drop the rear section and replace it w/ straight pipe? Hmm, ok. I wouldn't do it, but then again, I don't know squat about Scions or anything for that matter.

i dont want to get in a yelling match, but i dont remember him asking for opinions on it. it may not be the best thing for the car or enviornment, but hey, its more custom than some peoples cars. its a little bit ricey but at least he has the ***** to try things out. squirrel put an exhaust through the center of his bumper (which i like a lot btw, very sweet looking ) and nobody bagged on him for that. i think Supa's tC sounds pretty good for just a turn down. cant wait to hear the new exhaust once you get that too! kudos to trying something new and sweet looking car!

The reason I don't like the rear section being replaced by straight pipe, higher dB sound levels which equals grabbing a Police Officer's attention, no back pressure which also means a lag in throttle repsonse and prolly loss of low end torque, and on, and on, and on. Not too mention the interior cabin resonance.

Please make sure the exhaust dumps away from the car. Even idling at a stop light w/ the exhaust directly under the car can cause some carbon monoxide poisoning, and could lead to drowsiness or temp loss of consciousness.

Everyone has the choice on how they want to modify their ride. More power to you if you have the money to do some of the mods I can only dream of.

first off, dont be calling people morons. everyone has a right to modify their car how they want. and secondly, he removed the axle back, not cut the exhaust...keep the posts helpful

"no name" exhausts can make just as much power, and in some cases more then big name brands... you're mostly just paying for the name and muffler.

big names aren't everything, just look at APC
