from what I've learned a metal pipe is a metal pipe so as long as it has a good filter just get the one that looks the best and fits your budget. As for finding the lowest price that's just up to your own research, using ebay and google and what not, maybe also check out the Sponsored Sales forum

just make sure it fits the throttle body and has good fitment for the maf sensor. i have a fujita CAI right now, but just ordered a weapon r SRI because my fujita rattles against the bumper. and its i move it the other way it rattles against a screw. and if its right in the middle it hits both. dealt with it for a year but became far too annoying. plus i lowered my car on s.tech and now fear sucking water up and destroying my engine so figure ill just go short ram for convenience sake.just some things to think about.

I would get a Short Ram Intake kit, for one its cheaper and still improves gas mileage and HP/TQ, for two it will not suck up dirt and water and mud if you live in conditions where it floods sometimes or wat not, and for three its alot more accessable rather then going with a Cold Air Kit. CAI has caused engine to "hydrolock", which means the engine will lock up because the CAI has sucked water into the engine through the filter, having to be either torn down and replaced parts or just replaced the entire motor. IMO but get a SRI.

Ive had a Injen SRI/CAI, stuff happened and eventually i sold it. Then I wanted to get an intake again but I didn't want to spend over 100+ and bought an ebay intake (i looked around the listings and looked for one that had actual pictures of it) and I got that, used it as a SRI and replaced the filter with an AEM Dryflow.
And Ive been good since May. :3

If money is an issue.
Spending 300 dollars on an intake is for suckers.
Buy a cheap a$$ intake from Ebay, buy a good AEM filter that fits the piping (usually 2.5 inch), and buy an intake panel http://doctorisotope.com/plates_and_panels from Dr. Isotope in case the upper mounting bracket breaks (they usually do no matter which brand you buy). . .
And you have yourself a solid intake and you just saved 200 bucks. Take your girl out for dinner.

I got my fujita from ebay for $150, got the doc Isotope panel to eliminate the movement of the end of intake. it sounds great and adds some great pickup. If you don't mind my asking, where in texas are you? I'm in san antonio.

Man you can go blow your money if you want I have a Ebay CAI and it works and runs just the same as the 300+ ones. Im telling you from experience dont blow your money on a stinking name brand piece of aluminum pipe. I paid $50 for mine and it works amazing and fits great. So the call is yours but i laugh.

Might want to check out this thread,.... best of both worlds: Brand name and cheaper pricing than most.

Hahaha yeah right.
Do not believe everything you've heard.
Go cheap on the intake. I got suckered into buying a injen cai full price. Its a metal tube with a filter. Get a Raceland/Ebay/Fujita intake (I prefer SRI due to the fact I'm slammed and have my fender liners out, I dont wanna suck up water) and then buy an AEM dryflow filter, then you're all set. Spend your money on other parts, like the suspension or wheels.

I agree definitely with getting an intake from a reputable company. CAI > SRI depending on where you live, but we all know it takes a lot of water to do any damage
For sure pick up the Dr Isotope panel though, I bought one for mine and had it on the car for miles with no sound, rattle, or problems

DC makes an intake?

Tube is a tube, you can't get much simpler then this. However intake length and filter are the key contributors here. And yes, I realize your thread you have. But take the AEM, INJEN, FUJITA, etc etc, look inside of them, and their all the same.
DC makes an intake?
DC makes an intake?
they all look alike but they differ in a lot of things, for example piping diameter, piping lenght, and position of maf (somes have it closer to the tb than others) this is what makes the big diff in the intakes the position of the maf and the piping diameter, they all give almost the same kind of whp, but the best that we have seen on a stock car dyno proven has been with an injen intake (1-2whp more) than the competition, its not much but every lil gain counts, specially in n/a engines... NOW if you are willing to spend some cash on an intake why not buy the best????
to the op, like i told you before, my choices are 1. injen 2. dcsports. the only 2 guys that have reached 200whp on our cars in the scionlife forum is me and tcpete, word of advise listen to the wise........
