Bypassing the ECU's gas cut off and etc.
ok so since my last thread got deleted cause 50 people had to talk crap on it instead of answering a simple question. Im not a newbie here and no I didnt post that to get flamed. Its a simple question, if you didnt have the answer then dont post, isnt that in the rules somewhere?
Ok so someone asked why I would like to go that fast and some of you are probally thinking the same thing to yourself. My answer is cause I simply want to, why do they make the Bugatti Veyron able to hit 252? Dont tell me I cant hit over 129 on a stock motor either cause Ive seen stock Hondas with Hondata do over 140.
Look Im not trying to pick a fight or start a flame war, thats usually what happens everytime someone post's asking a out of the ordinary question.
Someone mentioned in the last thread that HKS and Greddy make something to remove the top speed limiter. Are these Piggy Back units?
The real question was meant to be when are we going to have a stand alone ECU that can be tuned instead of having a piggy back....that would of covered the whole top speed limit remover question.
But oh well if anyone can has a logical answer and doesnt come off with the maturity level of a 15 yr old please reply to this post
Oh and btw google just shows the piggy back units which Im sure arent able to remove the top speed limiter. I also know when you reach top speed, 2 things happen - the fuel is cut off and theres another action that happens but I cant remember what it was, anyone know what it is ?

yes greddy ultimate removes rev and speed limit. yes there is a standalone for the tc, but nobody has made an obd plug in reflash, like honda or subie.

Do you also know that the 5spd's gearing is one of the biggest limiting factors in top speed? I'm thinking not.

You want people to take you seriously and answer your questions but then you go and compare our car to a Honda, basically saying that we should be able to do it because a Honda can? Really?

The gearing is terrible on our cars lol. If Im correct I believe you can use a stand alone the Dezod APR ecu. Maybe a piggy back, the point the engine redlines about 129ish in 5th, if you could further push the redline it will rev more, if you could rebuild the head.
Cams would help I don't know what the motor will rev to safely as in the bottom end. I prolly explained my theory terribly

i dare you to drive my car and tell me that lol
technically you can hit 135-140 on the tc with stock gearing but your going to have to rev close to 7800+ rpms
ive murdered the new Si's before top end.. no biggie.. and even your avrg B Series but granted the p28 chipped with a decent prog can get you those results and since u can rev high its no biggie or a decent hondata set up or upgraded standalone/ecu.. u cant do that on a tc with mathematically with out raising the rev and upgrading 5th gear with a better final drive.
honestly OP u sound like those guys i race on okeechobee thinking that going 130+ is how u win races...
if your not passing anyone at 120 mph on your basic comparable car then going 10-15 mph faster isnt gona do it either.

To the op, yes you can remove the speed limiter, i did it for about $5 and in about 30min. the only downside is that when you disable it the way i did you lose the speedometer(doesnt really matter when you have a nice gps though). I also have a longer 5th gear installed and have put a higher clocked crystal oscillator in the ecu that effectively raises the redline to ~7000rpm. (still waiting to see what the side effects of that are, so far the a/f seems to be around .5points leaner but i still have obd2 connectivity so woot! and my scanguage shows no issues.)
should you do any of that?
probably not.
do i take any responsibility for actions based on the info posted above?
definitely not.
will i divulge more details?
not for the time being. if youre qualified to do the job then you should be able to deduce the necessary details from the typing above.
*Remove the stock speed limiter and youll hit the stock rev limiter at 140 on stock tires.
*Put in longer gears and youll run out of power on a stock motor before before 145.

ok so im basically an idiot for wanting to go faster...
i just wanted to know what the tc was capable of reaching, cause at 130 the engine sounds like it has more in it.
tc pete, you race on what highway? with your 200+ hp n/a motor id expect you to get from 70 to 130 fairly quick lol it would be sad to see a vw 1.8t put a spankin on you cause it topped out at a higher speed.

you put all that money in your motor to just stop at 130?

like i said... if your not ahead @ 120-125 racing your avg street car then 10 mph extra isnt gona save you unless your a fool spraying @ redline or you want your races lasting FOR EVER and risk getting pinched.
thats how you know your racing someone with experience vs. some a moron who thinks trapping 140 mph in a tc is how you win races...
i can hit up 145 easy on my mods and MS. but seriously if you need that much speed then your car is pretty dam slow IMO....
