you'll probably save a little bit of weight from doing this, but i'm not sure if you'll benefit much. A/C is a luxury that most can't live without, but if you're willing to live without it, it's up to you. i'm sure it's been done, but i wouldn't do it.

well here's the deal. i put a hole in condenser and it cost about $600 to get a new one. i have two options. spend the money and fix it, or delete the A/C setup.

I was also considering buying a condenser off ebay, but idk if it'll work. Has anybody bought one from ebay to replace theirs?

i don't use my A/C that often, more likely never, but i guess it would still be a good thing to have.

I you really want to remove it you need to remove condenser and all lines. You will also get a shorter belt bc the belt goes around condenser and your are removing it.

Just leave it on. We are not cheap ___ hondas that remove 1 belt and take off the condenser and think we gain over 9,000 hp from it. It is a luxury that you will miss the one time you need it. I'm not sure about the ebay condensers. Just replace with an oem one or if your under warranty go to toyota and be like cheak my car out. Then be like wtf why doesn't my a/c work.

AC? You don't need it, just use the 2/70.

No. The belt goes on the compressor. The condenser is the large radiator like object in-front of the engine radiator. And that part about going to the dealership is fraud. Or they will say "hey there is a hole in this which has clearly been caused by a external force therefore it will not be covered under warranty."

A/c is a very worthwhile accessory especially in the damp climate of the North East U.S. I would go to a website like www dot car-part dot com and search for a new condenser. I searched near Providence,RI and found a few in the $100 to $200 range. Car-part is website/search engine the browses a nationwide database of auto recyclers/ salvage yards. Find your part, give them a call, pick up part, install, done. My experience has been very good with businesses listed on car-part.com. Good luck!

AC Condensor is $150 on ebay. I managed to mangle mine when pulling my motor and my buddy managed the same thing - hes rockin the ebay condenser and it works fine. I needa pick one up - ive gone all summer without ac lol - but feel free to pay me $600 and ill give you an ac condenser :D

Word to that, if you REALLY ..... REALLY wanna man up. take out the seat belts, headlights, speedo, tach, and use lexan for windows that are always locked in place.


infact I say F____ it, take off the entire brake system and cut a hole in the floor and use your feet. Ive always felt that stopping was over rated..

well, you're 20, so you might not need it now. i understand what you mean, i love driving with the windows and sunroof open, but now that i am going to job interviews, i find that it is better to drive with the windows up and the a/c up so i don't have windswept hair, or am covered in sweat all down my back.

it also helps because on long highway jaunts, it is more fuel efficient to drive with the car closed up and the a/c on at 55+ mph than it is drive with the windows down.

i also love a/c for the ride home after a long day of autocross. after backing out in the sun all day, a/c helps keep me from passing out of heat exhaustion in the end.

I've found that sitting on a block of dry ice helps on the really hot, muggy days.
