Default Camcon Tuning...

Hey everyone. Next week im getting my camcon. First question, is there a stock tune so that as soon as i install it ill feel some gains? More importantly, i will be getting the camcon dyno tuned eventually but i was wondering if i should maybe upgrade my injectors. I dont think anyone else has done this but since im tuning my air/fuel with the camcon wouldnt bigger injectors give me more gains safely? I dont know too much about this stuff so i could be completely wrong. Please help.

i dont think bigger injectors would do much.

In an N/A car, is safer to run a little leaner than Forced Induction cars.

As you are, I bet you the stock ECU is making your car run rich, with the Camcon, you adjust this by leaning it a little more, but I strongly recommend dyno tuning it, butt tuning doesn't work as well...

Also, do not use the "map" power enterprise recommend for our engine, that map works only if you are completely stock... I used it and the car was running too rich, and the valve timing was too advanced... just install it, turn it off until you dyno tune it, to be on the safe side! :D

I wasnt going to butt tune it. im def. gonna get it dyno tuned. but ur saying as soon as i install it keep it off until the tune? theres no tune it comes with that will give me a little hp for the mean time?

I get you, but no it will actually be slower since it will run richer than the stock ecu's map.

More fuel, doesn't mean more power. When tuning for a N/A app. u need to lean out the mix safely, so power can be had around the powerband. Professional Tuning is required.

I just installed mine today. You can keep it on but dont mess around with it. I keep it on to make sure the RPMs are running right with the tac. If it is on and you don't mess with it, it'll just run off of the stock ECU settings. Anyone know how much a general tune and dyno would be?

Expect to pay from $150 to $400 for tune and dyno time.

What would make it cost up to $400?

For a great tuner with LOTS of experience, $200, and 2 hours at least of dyno time, $200.

How safe is the tune setup camcon has on its website for the tCs? I was thinking about just doing the air and fuel tuning from the diagram on thier website and wasn't sure how safe that would be considering every car is different, the difference in weather and so on. I plan on getting a professional tune but that'll be in about two weeks.

i think the tune on their site is for a stock unmodified tC.... if you have any mods you might rich or lean out your engine...

i hate saying this, but your gonna have to spend the big bux to get it tuned...

im still looking at either the camcon or the apexi safc II, i don't know which is better, i want one to be able to go back to a stock tune, and be able to switch to a tuned program on the run... does anyone know if the apexi safc II does this? i think the camcon does, if you turn it off, its like having a stock tune. i don't know
