cams for the 2AZ??
#2
what did you try searching?
i'm pretty sure you would've came across Brian Crower cams for the 2AZ-FE. the stage 2 NA cams are as mild as they get (usable with stock valvetrain).
if you're looking for something milder, then custom grinds are the way to go...but something that mild probably wouldn't even be worth it.

I was talking with a friend last night and he is running the BC cams with a mild port and polish and his car screams.not sure what all he has done exhaust wise but he has no trouble blowing buy supercharged tCs.

^ hahahaha
BZinn1:
please have him post or you post a vid or something.
i wanna know his setup and how he screams by supercharged tC's. BC hasn't provided any dyno charts, i've called and e-mailed...still waiting.
so far a) nobody has the cams yet or b) somebody has it, but hasn't dynoed it or c) somebody says they have it, but they're full of bs.

I know his internal are stock short of the head port/polish and the cams.He was out a few weeks back autocrossing and onthe course ran 57 seconds from what I remember. There was a turbo Honda EX doing liek 39 seconds and he said it was incredable to watch.
He has had a tough time lately as they changed class requirements and with his tires and seats and gutted interior he is in the wrong class now and needs tires under 180 to compete.....
Cool guy......he calls and talks to Rado all the time.....wish I could call Rado.....LOL

i've had the stage 2 n/a cams installed since August and they don't make the car into a top end monster. On the stock ecu you don't really get to take advantage of them but the butt dyno can feel a "small" torque increase around the 4k area.
Truthfully if you want to do cams in a n/a setup i would save up and buy stage 3 and all the supporting parts you'll need. I had the stage 3 cams at first but decided to trade them out. Now i wish i didn't. If you want a pair of stock cams to do a regrind i have a set sitting in my closet.

not to thread jack but how beneficial would camshafts be for an N/A anyway? i thought they were more meant to raise the cars redline and such? sorry for the n00b question/threadjack

I wouldn't buy cams for a change in exhaust sound. It would be a nice addition to the increased horse power and highten rpm's. Our cars sound terrible with most exhaust combinations unless turbo'd. To me a free flowing exhaust which would be needed if tuning for decent numbers N/A is not worth living with the sound it creates. Sure you can add 30-40in of resonators and a couple cats to kill the rasp but I would hardly say that it sounds desireable in the realm of nice sounding exausts. It may sound good for a tc/xb2 but deffinatly not drool worthy. Although I feel this is the same with most 4 cyl.
