wow on the hks cams comment.... the idle to me sounds just like stock, but when the ecu tries to drop the idle to around 600 a little lope is present.

Hey tCyoung, is your car tuned at all with a piggyback or are you just running the stock ecu with no piggyback with those cams?

I think he has to be running a piggyback. I emailed briancrower and they emailed me back saying that you do need to get a tune for the n/a cams

Descendant (Chris Rado's company) will have cams available soon for the 2az-fe. Cams for guys that are staying NA then a mild turbo street cam and a full race cam. we have seen huge increases in our 2az-fe race motor with the race cam.

What supporting mods do you have on your car? Also what is required as far as engine management in order to use the Race Cams? Estimated Cost of the Race Cams?

Thanks,

man i haven't been on here in forever. you can run stage 2 n/a WITHOUT engine management. i did and the car ran fine. my car never saw a dyno before the cam install but before i blew it up i had 246 whp and 231wtq with the emanage ultimate and n20.

So you were running stage 2 NA without engine management.

And some time after your car blew up.

This is an interesting sequence of events.

pm if interested.

i've already said it was my overuse of nitrous the cause my ringlands to give. before that i drove the car with the cams and the stock ecu for about month before adding the emanage ultimate and more n2o. i will give anyone $100 paypal if the have concrete proof that their car will not run on the stage 2 cams. the only reason i can see the car not running properly is if you didn't set the vvti cam gear correctly (i actually did that wrong and the car still ran with the cam over-retarded)

I am in Australia and I have 2009 toyota camry sportivo acv40. 2AZFE 2.4l engine with current mods.

Custom fabricated full aluminium radiator
B&M external transmission cooler
Full Custom fabricated air intake with K&N pod filter
Weapon R racing intake manifold
ATI super damper
NST lightweight alternator & water pump pulleys
Denso power iridium spark plugs
Full Custom fabricated headers hi flow bullet cat into full Custom mandrel bent exhaust
2 oil catch cans
BC racing coilovers
Nolathane sway bar end links.

I have had this car on the dyno!

I'm getting Kelford cams stage 2 (stock valvetrain & springs) installed and then the factory ECU tuned! That's right people!! I've found a tuner who can tune the factory ECU!!!!

Will post an update!

Sweet! Im guessing VF tuner is the one. I'll be doing mine also. Upgraded and rebuilt supercharger and full engine build. With a pretty aggressive cam, but I still want VVTi and usability on the street. I'm not sure which cams I'm going to use yet. I'll update once I do as well.
