Default the car is lagging, help please??

ok so i just want to start off by naming what i have on the car. i have a AW header, megan s-pipe, stock OEM mid, greddy sp2 and stock airbox.

the problem is my car is lagging / misfiring from 2k - 3k rpm on 2nd and 3rd gear. first gear is fine but when i shift the car starts the shake and not respond until after 3k rpm then it goes again.

i took off my injen CAI last week because im getting ready for the S/C. well actually its just sitting at home and im waiting to put it in. so do you guys think the MAF sensor got dirty? or is it the spark plugs? i havent got time to check yet because this happened yesterday night and im at work right now.

oh, and the important note i dont not have a CEL on so i cant check any codes!

another thing is my car seems to have gotten louder. i hear lots of rasp now from my header which i normally don't hear until AFTER 3k. i mean i dont think the header will have any effect on the car laggin / misfiring right?

so i just wanted to see if you guys have any answers or opinions? what im going to do is try to clean the MAF sensor and just put the stock header back on and see what will happen.

Am i able to get the MAF sensor cleaner at any autoparts store??

Thanks in advance!

First thing I would do is check the spark Plugs. And you can always try cleaning the MAF sensor but I don't know what affect that will have. that will cause the car to sound like it doesn't want to run though...

Have you tried resetting the battery to compensate for the removal of the CAI? Just a thought. The added noise could be because you don't have an intake droning in the drivers side to drown it out.

That was my first thought too for the "lagging." If you didn't reset the ECU the car could be expecting more air to enter the engine and you could be running rich. At least, I think that's what would happen... but ya, try resetting the ECU.
