Cat Converter Question

Default Cat Converter Question

I was wondering if it would be better to get a high flow cat to replace the orignal one or just take it off and use straight pipe..i want it a little louder but i didnt know if takin it off completly would damage my car in the long run?? ps i have megan racing headers and custom cat back.

Well if you take the cat off the car will actually stink out the exhaust.wont hurt it but it will stink.

A high flow cat will not give you any flow issues,but be sure it is a real magnaflow....magnaflows are not ceramic filled,they have screens.

no it will actually take soem of the rasp out though.A bigger midpipe and such will give a little more sound.

i thought replacing the stock cat with a high flow one will make it louder

it will change the sound,but from the ones I have heard with magnaflow cats it was not louder once on.We jsut did one this weekend and it was not louder,but the tone melowed and got deeper.
