Default CEL/O2 sensor help

Has anyone w/ I.H.E setup ever had problems with the O2 sensors?
I have mmw header, injen intake, magnaflow exhaust. The header has about 20k on it and never have had any problems.

Two days ago my CEL came on and i just got around to getting it checked. Went to autozone and they said it was the first O2 sensor that was the problem. (I cant remember the exact code reading.)

So i took the sensor out and cleaned it w/some brake cleaner, let it dry, reset the ecu and still have the CEL.

Do you think it (O2sensor) could be bad? If so could it come from the ecu feeding too much fuel cause of the i/h/e setup?

Im going to go to advanced auto tomorrow and get the actual reading on paper.

Also........I have the CEL eliminator on that comes w/the header/s-pipe

Thanks in advance for the help

Check the one on the s-pipe too. I had a weld break on mine which caused a small air leak and a CEL. Had to take it off and re-weld the bung. Not so happy with weapon-r right now

Get the exact CEL trouble code so there is no confusion. Then research the code here:

I got the exact codes now here they are.

DTC (codes)

P0136
O2 Sensor
Circuit Malfunction
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)

DTC Pending (Codes)

P0136
O2 Sensor
Circuit Malfunction
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Now I hope that I dont have any broken welds or leaks. Im going to change my oil tomorrow and i will probly remove the s-pipe and check it out. Do you think that carbon deposits could block the sensors from reading the exhaust wrong?

I tryied to call weapon-r today but the guy i needed to talk to (Chris W.) was at a car show and wouldnt be back till Monday.
I was going to ask him if they had seen anything like this before.

Sensor 2 means its definately the one on the s-pipe. U need to limit ur driving because ur car is running rich now. I wouldnt reccommend any 50+ mi trips till u get it fixed. It is also possible that u burned up the O2 sensor. In that case u will need to order another from the dealer. But check that s-pipe first.

No he's not running rich, there's separate trouble codes for running rich and running lean. This would be a big deal if it was the AFR sensor (Sensor 1) on the header.

This is not a serious problem at all. Sensor 2 is used only to monitor the efficiency of the catalytic converter in the stock exhaust manifold. Since you've replaced it with the Weapon-R header, there's some issue with the CEL eliminator.

I have found the problem. The O2 sensor bung on the s-pipe has a crack in the weld about half way around it. Just like hawgs74 said.

Im deffanatly not too happy w/ weapon r now. Going to call them monday for sure and hope the will pay for the cost to get it welded or send me a new pipe.........probly not going to happen though.

What sucks even more is i work in a steel fab shop and have access to welders, but we do not use stainless steel

Yes the fact that it's happened at least twice shows there's definitely a weld quality defect with these s-pipes. MMW/Weapon-R has a history of some poor customer service, hopefully you will fare better.

How long is the warranty period and how long have you had the header?

Yes there is an update.

I talked to Chris W. at MMW and he said that they would fix it for me. So i sent the s-pipe to him and in about a week i had the pipe back on the car and the car runs fine now. They were very understanding about the problem i had, and seemed like he wanted to fix it as fast as possible.

FYI/ I dynoed my car...........163 hp 162 tq

I pay for shipping to send they pay shipping to return. I put the stock header back on till i got it back, about a week. It sucked bad to have the stock header and s-pipe back on.........my magnaflow exhaust was very quiet compared to when the mmw header was on. It was a little louder than the stock but not much.

Know i just have to figure out how to post my dyno results so everyone can see the torque curve and the a/f ratio
