I just came back from lunch, and I took a 06 TC with me (I work for a Toyota store in parts) It had 3 miles on it when I left with it, and it would spin 2nd, not chirp it.

When I snatched 3rd though, it seemed to just bog out. Not saying it wouldn't, but Id be interested to see it.

I chirpped 3rd one time at the strip haven't been able to do it again but I can't say that I really tried either. But I can chirp second each and everytime I shift outta first at redline. If your having trouble chirping 2nd in a tc well maybe you can't shift fast enough.....

i was drivin around with my friends one night and was trying to follow my friend in his eclipse. He was tearing through his nieghborhood trying to lose me. I turned a sharp corner and got on the highway. I started going through each one of my gears and all of a sudden my 2 friends in the car went NUTS!!! they said they heard me chirp fourth. I didn't hear it and i've never been able to duplicate it but the two of them said they heard it. maybe a fluke?

chirping gears isnt really a good thing, we are suppose to be wanting traction not trying to lose it

i have to agree with pepperz about that. also i thought that chirping just means you didnt let the clutch out fast enough. i remember my friends dad told me that when he heard me bragging about how i chirped gears all the time. he said that if chirping gears was a good way to race then all the pro drivers would do it. i kinda paid attention to what he was saying because he is a professional race car driver. i think he is one of toyotas factory drivers or something like that. i just know he races with something for toyota and he also races in the toyota atlantic series

For whatever reasons, I hear that 4 cylnders chirp third with ease. Go figure....

I chirped 3rd in the TC and I had two other people in the car with me. Not sure how the weight factor played in, but YES you can chirp 3rd in a manual TC.

It's like doing a mini burn out in third gear while driving. If you don't let the clutch out fast enough then when your getting back on the pedal you are revving the engine as you let off the clutch.
