Default clutch problem

Ive noticed my clutch is engage a lot later than normal. It seems to be really high up and its effecting my driving because im not able to do smooth shifting causing me to jerk when i finally release the clutch, also sometimes it causes me to grind gears. Ive got 21k miles on it and its ive sprayed nitrous about 10 times (50 shot) but not enough to burn out the clutch, atleast i dont think so. Is there an adjustable clutch cable for the tc? If not what could the problem be?

last time I checked Nitrous wasn't one of the incidents covered in the warranty! But in all seriousness it sounds like you need a new one, the extra ponies you forced into your engine prolly caused it to wear out faster, clutch had to overcome a greater load of power most likely.

but is the clutch covered by warranty or is it a "wear and tear" product that they dont cover?

wow, another post in which even after 10 replies, its up to me to mention the fact that your car does not have a clutch cable. its hydraulic (yeah, i don't know anything tcpete! lol..)

imo, the clutch is funky, always has been. i feel like mine engages late and high as well, but whenever i bring it to a shop, they say it is fine....which roughly translates to either a) we don't know if there is anything wrong with it or not, or b) thats the way it is supposed to be, its just a crappily manufactured system.

you either need to learn to live with it, or get a new car.

kid, r u kidding me???? you said your clutch went out at 50k!!!!!!! OBVIOUSLY, there was some issue there. it should have lasted twice as long.

and contrary to your first reply, if the clutch grabs, then its not "time for a new one".

the only time you need to replace the clutch is if its slipping.

lol my clutch was DEAD i didnt say that it grabbed when i had to replace it, infact i could start the car WITHOUT pressing on the clutch. it slipped every gear and tehn boom i couldnt drive. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out i needed a new clutch. and yea teh clutch went at 50k remember the part i said abnout it being my first standard car. i learned on that clutch. so the first 15-20k miles where kinda rough ill admit it it look me a little longer then i wanted to get driving stick down pat but i got it now.

My brother and I both learned stick on the same nissan sentra, it had 120k miles on it when we sold it, with the original clutch. Clutches really last if you drive them right, even if you drive them hard.
