Cold Air Intake Question
I've read that by installing a supercharger or a turbo into a car, it could potentially be detromental to the life of the engine. True or not, does a cold air intake influence the engine in any way? (MPG, Longevity, etc...)???
Thanks!

yeah, but i'd assume he'd find hits for the massive amount of CAI questions and then run into a nice "true or not" discussion/arguement and would only get the conclusion that "it could be true, but I dunno. I guess I'll just have to try it out" method.
Also, just by searching MPG or longevity, i'm sure he could answer it. Either way, short answer:
Slight gains in HP/TQ. Improved MPG is arguable - some say you gain & others say you don't, longevity only if you somehow manage to hydrolock or get something into the engine I would assume.
Turbo tC testing has shown massive gains w/ stock internals. I'm pretty sure a little bit more air being sucked in couldn't hurt the longevity of the vehicle.
