If you google Competition Clutch you will see that there are problems all over the place especially Honda forums like RSX and so forth. I had a problem with my CC Stage 4 6 puck that I bought from Dezod. After having the clutch installed in the car and having my mechanic test drive the car....the car did not even move. I cannot even go into any gear because of a faulty pressure plate. Ask dezod what the hell is going on and they just told me basically they cannot help me and I need to call Competition Clutch for the problem. Ever since then I stand by ACT Clutch all the way.

CC Stage 4 Now I'm on this weak **** TRD one. I probably will just ride on this until it's Twin Disk time.

well i think its a matter of affordability, and marketing. if the vendors have excess of parts they'll usually have a sale or group buy to help clear out merchandise and make room for new product. im sure alot of vendors on here pushed for that to help with sales. Some vendors are no longer using CC... others still do but if you havent noticed.. CC isnt exactly being pushed much on the boards like it was a year ago or even 6 months ago...

hmmm i wonder why!!!!

i am going to post pics of whats left of the throw out bearing and clutch fork so everyone can see. car is up and running... we got the tranny down and back up once all the parts got here in about 4 hours... decided to do it like the race pros and drop the entire subframe completely. sure makes like easier and faster. just gotta get some tweaking done, a steel braided line for the clutch.. bleed it... and i should be back up and running and taking it to 7k again =)

damn pete... sorry to hear about this - I fear this may be an issue of concern with all the CC clutches, as my own stage 2 gave me a moment of worry last week.

was driving on 17th street in ft. lauderdale, was in neutral at a stoplight and when the light turned green and I went to shift into first, it refused to go in. when it finally did engage, it was trying to grab even with the clutch fully pressed in (as if a spring had broken loose, like my OEM clutch had failed last february). interestingly enough, it has behaved itself normally ever since.

like I said, this has me worried... 4 hours huh? I may need you to teach me how to do that ^^.

nice r&d... this "redesigned" throw out bearing i was told would was the improved one which lasted me less that 2k miles... it basically disintegrated !!!.. and fell apart.. i managed scrape out as much of the plastic and garbage out of the casing... these pics are going to start floating asap... and some emails will be flying come monday!

I'm feel so bad for you Pete. You know I had the same issue as your first problem - and I went with a disc Olympic got for me (4 puck sprung) and the OEM TOB.. we'll see how long this lasts.

Let's get a group buy going for twin discs... I know I'd like to get one if the price is right.. Marcelo too most likely.

Yeah my car was the test bed for the stage 4's. I've burnt up 3 stage 4's and 1 stage 2 in less than 15k miles between all of them. The first stage 4 lasting the longest. Their clutches are ____, but if you call them they will usually send you a free one.

cory when you go there.. talk to MrC and ptuning ... and tell him me and mike (elevation) sent you... he'll hook u up!

further more ill be formulating a letter to CC sometime tonight to see if i can get something back from this. If i dont, then the CC bashing all over the automotive forums will begin to flood.

OYE pete sorry to hear about the clutch . I bought the same clutch you got about 5 months ago and never saw this thread until a week ago and im just shocked. I sold the clutch already but now im back to square one with the clutch and what brand to get . I have a friend that is a store manager at Murray's spped & custom and he quote me for a ACT clutch kit Scion tC (2005-2006 All (236mm)) - ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kit w/ 6-Puck Race Disc (Torque Capacity 499 ft.lbs.) and the flywheel Scion tC (2005-2008 2.4L) - Fidanza Lightweight Billet Aluminum Flywheel (9.5 lbs.)
Ptunning has both items and total for both is 805.57 with no shipping and he said he can get me both for 600 bucks .

Now im not sure if act is the best choice for me or exedy but he tell me in this year alone he has sold 15 act kits and only one exedy ................ Im lost

both act and exedy make good clutchs for the tc with minimal problems.. im not sure about your power goals but eith one will do.. but i would lean towards the exedy.. its the one ptuning recommended me given the power goals i set which were over 400
