and when listing the weight differences, it shows the alternator and water pump pulleys being only 7 and 8 ounces different... is that really that much of a difference?
Hi krazyjvilled,

I have read much of your questions, and I have also replied to your PM. I will copy and paste my PM response here for you and others who may have similar questions... I have tried to make some of these FAQs clear on page one of this thread, so I would advise others to read through the first page of this thread as well....

Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in our site and products, we appreciate it.

It would be best for you to contact us by phone, so that I can answer these questions for you in great detail.

I will give you the short version here...

Our Underdrive Crank Pulley slows your accessories (alternator, water pump, power steering, a/c) by roughly 20%, freeing up a nice amount of power and torque. Our Overdrive Alternator Pulley speeds up the alternator by roughly 20% to bring the alternator back up to OEM speed. Therefore, your alternator will run at OEM speeds, no slower no faster than stock, if you use both of these pulleys. This is excellent for customers who require lots of electrical output from their alternators.

None of your accessories (water pump, a/c, power steering) will suffer any negative consequences as a result, nor will their lifespan be shortened. We have spent a great deal of time on proper research and development to make sure that everything will work properly. And we have THOUSANDS of happy Scion customers who have been running our kits with positive results over the past several years.

Furthermore, ALL NST Pulleys are roughly 70% lighter than the OEM pulleys they replace. All of this weight reduction adds up, and all of it helps to provide better throttle response, better power and torque delivery, and better overall fuel economy.

All NST Pulleys are designed to provide excellent gains, which is why we build them. We would not build them if they did not provide positive gains.

Again, please feel free to call us should you need more info. I would be happy to chat with you further.

Glad to hear your positive review bud!

Don't forget to mention that NST authorized a return on your belt and is going to issue a full refund for the purchase price of the belt that did not fit for you

Thanks again, good luck and have fun with all your projects

I need a little info on what belt I need for my pulley set.

I installed Underdrive pulley kit(crank, water pump, alternator) for the Scion tC (2007) - NST02020K

I need help trying to figure out which size belt I need for them.

I tried looking up K060737 as stated on the NST website but there is no belt by that model number. It looks like a Gates model number but they do not have a belt by that model at all. I tried to email NST and they have not responded at all in a week and a half. I tried contacting them a second time and they still have not responded.

If you could link me to the appropriate size belt I would be greatly appreciative.

TIA

Hi ecko0k,

THE BEST way to get a hold of us is to pick up a phone and call us at 281-917-0221. I will be more than happy to chat with you personally during the business hours that are listed on our website. I can also be reached on AOL Instant Messenger at the screen name "NSTonAIM" nearly seven days a week. Email and PMs also work, unfortunately they are slower and not always as reliable.

You should be able to use either of the following belts... K060737, K060739, K060740. Any of these belts should work and you can order such a belt at your local auto parts stores or from our website.

Again, I am only a phone call away should you need to chat further.

Good luck and have fun with all your projects!

Theoretical question....I spin a bearing or have some other crank related failure and my drivetrain is still under warranty...Could the dealership use the installed NST pulley to void the warranty and not fix the problem?

If they can prove that the pulley was the cause to the problem then yes..otherwise they have to prove that the pulley was the reason for the failure.

What impartial party do they have to prove it to? Whats to prevent them from saying something like oh lack of damening caused a failure?

50,000+ miles and still going strong on all 3 NST pulleys ^^

Oh and i'm turbo'd and I run it like I stole it

I was hesitant when I first installed it, but no problems thus far.

Would definitely use NST on my next car.

If i'm not mistaken our engines are internally balanced.

Harmonic balancer attached to our cranks.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

How can K060737 be recommended when there seems to be no belt by that part number? Gates does not have K060737, which seems to be the belt you guys say you carry, I don't know how when I called them and they say they do not have any such belt.

When I go to the parts store they break down the K060737 and K060739 as 6 rib belts usable length 73.7" and 73.9" respectively, they do not carry nor can order any belts with those "odd" lengths.

I also placed the order for the belt from you previously on your site and after it did not ship out in a week and a half I asked for a refund.

I need more specific direction or a link to purchase these elusive belts.

I do not understand how 3 different sized belts can fit and operate as they should.
