The CR-Lite Crank Pulley is our OEM diameter crank pulley, same size as stock. This pulley does not slow any of the accessories.

The Underdrive Crank Pulley slows the accessories to provide better hp and tq delivery, better throttle response, and better fuel economy. This pulley is compatible with n/a and turbo cars... and when paired with the Overdrive Alternator Pulley, the alternator spins at the same speeds as with the OEM setup. No slower, no faster.

None of the accessories lose any of their ability to function properly when NST pulleys are used. We have sold the same Underdrive Crank Pulley since early 2005 and none of our customers have ever reported any negative feedback regarding accessory output.

Feel free to call us should you have any further questions, we would be happy to chat with you.

One of the first things to check would be to make sure that you are using a GATES brand belt.... K070890 for the 2006 TRD SC tC. Other brands make similar belts, but they are not always true to size.

Next, you would want to make sure that your belt is in good condition... no tears, rips, or cracks. Old belts sometimes stretch over time due to weather and old age, and will need to be replaced eventually. You will want to stay away from excessive use of "belt dressing" or other sprays that will eventually wear away at the belt.

Feel free to give us a call should you need to chat about your setup!

P.S. Not hard at all to install... Hardest part is probably getting the belt back on.. haha
Thank you for the post. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your NST pulleys

Thanks for the reply NST! So the Lite pulley gives you less performance gain than the underdrive pulley, but still a gain?

Anyone else have any new user reviews, thoughts, or comments to share regarding their NST pulleys?!

After literally MONTHS of having a squealing belt due to the incorrect belt sizes and a lack of information I got my hands on a Gates K060739....it fits the tC 07+ with the NST Pulley Kit NST02020K

Neither K060737 and K060740 exist as Gates belts.

Once again I think this information should be available to everyone up front and on the internet, not by phone call.

With that being said i've had my NST pulley since my car was basically NA w/ nitrous and they're okay for an NA car. The performance gains are minimal but there is a slight performance gain. It probably does not justify the cost though. This was with a lot of other supporting mods. I dyno'd my car on a Mustang Dyno NA with just the pulleys and made 145hp/141tq. This was with an Injen CAI, Strup Header, Invidia s-pipe and 2.5" Magnaflow catback exhaust. Performance gains were roughly ~4whp.

If you go turbo then it is best to keep the stock pulleys as you will want the extra weight there but if you have already upgraded like I did they will not cause a problem. Just remember which damn belt fits so when you have to change it you'll already know.

I have a couple of questions about these pulleys(tc). Are the crank pulleys 6 rib pulleys? Belt guide states the belt needs to be changed to a K06 belt (6 rib) when changing the crank pulley, but not the alt/wp. Why would the crank pulley be made as a 6 rib if all the other pulleys are 7 rib? I have already upgraded my s/c pulley, and if I wanted a light weight cp I would have to buy another belt?

no, you don't need another belt. i have the supercharger pulley for over 2 years. i install the lite crank pulley this summer. i use the same belt.

So is the crank 6 rib, wouldn't that have the wider belt hanging off an edge causing wear. Also did you feel a difference with the lw cp, I'm hoping to get to boost rpms quicker

Those of you who are supercharged will need to use our CR-Lite Crank Pulley... NST02148. This pulley DOES NOT require a belt change and will work with the belt you are currently using with your s/c pulley.

Good luck and have fun with all your projects!

Absolutely not.

The OEM pulleys use a 7rib belt, the NST Underdrive Crank Pulley uses a 6rib belt. If lined up and installed correctly during initial installation, this belt will last just as long as your OEM belt (40,000 to 50,000 miles) with no abnormal wear, jumping, etc.

No one has ever reported a belt jumping or ripping since 2005.

Good luck and have fun with all your projects!

ok....after reading all 9 pages lol I'm still not 100% sure even though i think i know the answer. If my tc is jus a daily driver with some of the usual bolt-ons i need to get the underdrive pulley not the crank correct? also since i dont have a "system" other than the stock in my car do i rlly need to get the WP n alternator kit, and if i do get the kit will i get even more power than jus the underdrive pulley alone?

the underdrive pulley is a crank pulley. and yes, since you don't have a great electrical demand, you can do the alternator pulley and water pump pulley. adding those pulleys along with the underdrive pulley will net you some additional hp and torque. (and fuel economy too).

I have an 08 xB, and bought the pulley set from NST. The stock alternator pulley is a clutched pulley. The garage I go to is confused on HOW to take the stock pulley off
(Mainly) and how the NST alternator pulley will work , when it is replacing a clutched pulley.

Mainly I need directions on how to remove the stock alternator pulley on an 08 xB

Help please.

Unfortunately it looks like Toyota decided to go with this type of ALT pulley on some of the newer xB models. If your mechanics have trouble installing our ALT pulley for you, you are welcome to run only the crank and water pump pulley, and return the unused alternator pulley to us for a full refund. Please call us if you decide to go this route.

You can also contact us by phone and I would be more than happy to give you some tips and share some more info with you.

Thanks again!
