Default Coolant Flush...

I am trying to get some information about flushing the coolant system. I am well aware of how to do it from reading up in a book, but I am unsure of where the drain is for the coolant system. I was under the car and didn't see any drain plug or anything under the radiator. Help would be appreciated - maybe I am overlooking something!

Default hey man

Hey bro pop the hood. Where the radiator is look down. On the right side of the radiator you will see a white turn ***. Bottom right hand corner of the radiator. Turn that *** and it drains out the bottom through a little hole. Youll see it, its hard to miss. And when you refill it throw some Royal Purple Coolant additive in it. Helps alot, its like 16 bux. Take it easy bro.

Awesome. That sounds easy enough! Hopefully I wont hit any surprises.

I never thought to use the royal purple coolant additive. I was just going to go to toyota and buy some more long life coolant. What exactly does the additive do however?

Default Here ya go.

Purple Ice is a high performance, synthetic, radiator coolant additive for both gasoline and diesel engines. It is formulated to reduce the surface tension of the coolant, which improves heat transfer through the cooling system while providing additional protection against rust, corrosion and erosion.Purple Ice prevents the formation of scale deposits in the radiator for optimum coolant flow and lubricates the seals of the water pump. It is ideal for use in straight water racing applications or in antifreeze / water mixtures.

So just add your antifreeze/water then add the whole bottle of the Royal Purple additive. Helps the TC run much cooler, which will take away the sluggish feel from when its hot as hell out. Its bout 16-17 bux depending on where you get it. Worth the money.

Default Nice

Nice man. What I think is funny is the regular price which says 12.99. I got ripped off paying 16 and change. But it was worth it. LOL I love Connecticut Stores they rape us. LOL Thanks

^^^ I use the toyota long life coolant anyway, so I believe that is good to go, no need to add water afterwards anyway. From what I understand, you just add this to the coolant tank afterward.

1 bottle is enough, 1 oz per 1 quart. And it is a 16oz bottle here we are buying. So...

Yea, CT is expensive living space! lol
