Default couple questions

Ive searched around, but havnt been able to find any answers to my questions.

1. Has anyone used the expandable foam "Good Stuff" in either their hatch or c pillar to quiet down our cars? If so results? Im not looking to make it more structurally ridged, and am fully aware that too much will warm panels, i just want to decrease road noise.

2. Is it the overall length of the resonator or the total volume that matters more for making the exhaust more quiet? (im looking for a legitimate quantitative answer not qualitative)

A little backround info....My last setup was two 18 inch magnaflow resonators with 4 inch bodies. Somehow, the resonator closest to the s pipe broke inside and is rattling like crazy. There is no physical damage to the outside, so it was hypothesized (by the guys at the muffler shop that I went to) that the temperatures were very high and somehow broke it. I find this to be highly doubtful and dont see how that is possible considering the only modifications to my car are a header and intake.

I liked how my last exhaust sounded, but would like it to be a tad bit quieter. How would going from an overall length of 36" x 4" (volume of 452 c.i.) to an overall length of 30" x 6" (volume of 848 c.i.) change my setup?

Thanks

Jon

if you use great stuff you have to make sure it has an opening to escape if it expands to much........weve used one on a industrial steel door and didnt leave a gap and it bent the 400 pound door.

lowe's has some rubber screw spacer(1/2 inch thick) put em behind ur hatch stoppers(those are the ones on the top side of your taillights) they will be 4 screws.. so, get 4. put em behind the stopper. you going to have to unscrew the stopper n put the spacer behind the stopper. $2 FIXED!!

It worked for me. NO MORE RATTLE.

Hatch rattle can be fixed by adjust ing the latch as quoted above, using the expanding foam is asking for huge problems, strongly do not recomand.

dynomat or edead the hatch and 905 of the rattles will be gone,I have no rattles in mine at all,I did and I adjusted the latch and installed deadener and they are gone, now only noise I have is from the roof over speedbumps, but with how stiff suspension is that is not gonna be easily fixed.....lol
