hey.. i had some rasp when i just put on my headers, but this is how i went about it.
when i put the headers on.. i had the megan racing s-pipe to a strait pipe leading to a magnaflow muffler.. so i didnt have any resonators or cats.
so you can only imagine how it sounded haha.
then i put a resonator on.. it quieted it down a little.. however i was gettin rasp between 2500 and 3000k rpm.. so i decided to add a magnaflow hi-flo cat.. and that killed ALL rasp.
here is a video i made today of my exhaust.. cant hear it that well, but you can tell their is no rasp.. the current set up is:
Megan Racing V2 Header > Megan Racing S-pipe > Magnaflow Hi-Flo Cat > Magnaflow 30" Resonator > 2.25" mandrel bent midpipe > 2.5" custom mandrel bent axle back w/ magnaflow muffler.
basically the way to quiet the rasp is a resonator.. the way to get rid of it is a cat imho

^ The consequences of not reading up in Scionlife before adding a header.... The above solution is a good one...
The cheapest solution I found was the megan racing header with the precision muffler axleback.... little to no rasp without need for resonator or cat install...
Running a GReddy/HKS/Etc... will all have some nasty rasp with a header install... unless you follow the advice above.

now when people refer to "rasps" is that the kinda sound from a ricey honda exhaust? kinda like a lawnmower?
i have the megan v2 headers and i'm thinking about getting the megan exhaust but keeping the stock spipe and midpipe. imma assume major rasp-ness?

Think AckAckAckAckAckAckAckAckAckAckAck at like 10 Acks per second... - My Best Shot at a Description
It's a horrible sound, no matter what your preference is on exhaust sounds... people cringe... some resonators help, not all do... so going with the high flow cat as well might do the trick.
