whats the difference between the borla kit and the cc kit with the borla muffler
the cc kit is cat back, and the borla is axel back
and it is a completely different muffler, with 2.5" diameter pipes. The borla has smaller diameter piping.

Well I got it all installed...sounds great. Not too loud at all. No bothersome drone on the highway or anything...GREAT!

Only problem is the bend behind the resonator that turns to go through the groove in the body sits against the heat shield that is under there...Nothing I can do will move it away. I tried one thing and it didn't work at all. So....... I dont know what to do other than getting under there and smashing the heat shield all to hell to move the pipe away from it. I really don't want to do that. This contact causes a very slight vibration inside the car and makes the noise a little louder inside. I must say though it is not that loud...it just bothers me that it sits against.

Overall I give it an A- for fitment. Everything else lined up perfectly.

And before anyone asks, I do not have a phone or anything that takes video, so sorry, no sound clips.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix the contact issue??? Has this happened to anyone before??

James, anyone?

Is this s-pipe back or actual cat-back?

From the looks of the pics, it looks like there's one extra pipe.

From the description, it sounds like that piece takes place of the main cat. If that's the case and a hi-flow cat is ordered, does that piece not come with your order?

All this aftermarket research is starting to eat at my sleep time and wallet

their full exhaust is s-pipe back...you would have to get the high flow cat to replace the stock one if you need to pass emissions testing.

They also offer a cat-back version which connects after the stock cat, along with an axle back version which connects after the resonator at the flange before the axle beam.

so an s-pipe would still need to be ordered right? (assuming that a header is either installed or ordered also so that there's a plausible gain in using the s-pipe. Not to mention that the gasket or whatever that I've read about between the header & s-pipe could be replaced at once.)

you dont have to get an s pipe cause it will bolt to the stock one but you are always welcome to

If you are putting a full exhaust on, why not get an s-pipe??!! But it is not necessary. By the way, I finally think I was able to adjust the exhaust pipes a little bit today to get it to stop banging on the heat shield when I started and stopped the engine. Time will tell. I will see when I drive to work tomorrow.

Full exhaust b/c of the option of having the Magnaflow catback isn't bolt-on and axle-back noise maker isn't what I want to waste money on.

The addition of possible customizations like a Hi-Flow Cat Back (CA), Resonator (CA again), and the Borla muffler (the exhaust sound that I'm looking for) is the reason for it. By the way, a Borla muffler would give the exhaust the same sound (deeper non-ricey) as a Borla axle back correct? I understand the sound would ultimately be different as it's now a cat-back w/ resonator and such, but figured I'd ask.

The biggest reason is that I read you had to change a donut gasket or something if/when you do the S-Pipe.....

I think it went along the lines that you could flip it over and it would work, but since a header is in the plans down the line, it would require an entirely new gasket as using it twice may induce seal or possible fitament issues. I would just replace the entire thing in any event, but another major factor as to why no S-Pipe to begin with:

Total planned aftermarket bill directly after buying the car = ~$3000

Not including the stereo system that is also planned.

I'm trying to see if CC is willing to do a price break for placing a ~$3000 order

I wonder if CC would send along the stock piping that would go along with a kit that didn't have the cat/resonator if I ordered the cat/resonator.

Would be nice to swap in/out the cat, and then swap out the resonator once the car is turbo'd.

Has any body got the Complete Exhaust Kit w/o the CAT and resonator and with the front pipe replaceing main Cat and resonator? Do u think it would sound annoyingly loud?

you are better off calling him. Just call the 1-800 number on the website and ask to speak with James. He has always been the one to answer my calls though...

Default videos/ sound clips

can somebody please posts their sound clips/videos of their CC complete exhaust system? i am wanting to buy one but i want to know what it sounds like with a hi-cat and resonator....and the different mufflers. i was originally gonna go with magnaflow, but borla seems to be pretty popular. im looking for a deep and aggressive tone not too loud or too low. ricey is out of the question for me.

whoever has vids of the CC exhaust, please post so i can make my final decision. thanx
