Older thread I know, but I'm looking to get a pod for some gauges and this seems to be the only one I like, however, I have the side curtain air bags. Has anyone with these air bags installed this pod yet or does anyone know what the possible hazzards would be if I did?

I installed With air bags......... I'm assuming if something happens I'm going to get hit in the head with a gauge! Not sure if anyone has tested this...... but if I get in an accident I will let everyone know!!!

I have one sitting on my table.... Just waiting to get repainted... I've test fitted it, and it's a pain to get to install right...

I'm going to have to sand down the bottom of the pod to get it to sit the way I am happy with...

I still need guages for it, but am currently low on funds... do to my other 1000 projects...

I'm going to be running autometer cobalts, so they should look amazing with a Blue LED converted guage setup. Just expensive

does anybody know if another type of setup is being made? I think that putting them over the airbags might be one of the dumbest things ive heard since first going to this site. Do you know how much airbags hurt but save you life?
im surely not saying that this happens daily but check this out before you think it would be a good idea to put a pillar over the airbags:
http://www.easternforensic.com/killer_airbags.htm

anyway - does anybody know if another type of setup will be made? 20% of the scions have airbags so many people are not going to be able to use this pillar setup.

Eh, I'm not the biggest fan of the placement of that pod. They have others on their site that go over the speedometer which would prolly look better on the tC, but unfortunately they aren't for the tC.

I've seen a custom mount over the guages, but due to the roundness of our guages, it just doesn't fit... you could always go with the air vent custom guages... but not the easiest fabrication work...

Sciondad in the F/I got a nice lil' custom guage setup up high... those appear to be the only real options right now... and some of them aren't mass produced yet.

I'm happy to be airbag free! A Pillar Pod and ME! Friends forever...

overall ....air bags save lives so I went for that option but im just going to have to wait on where to put the pod. I think there will be more options in the future because 1/5 of the scions have the airbags (so someone might think that a new pod spot is worth making). I like the center placement but I dont need 2 gauges. I just want boost and one other one (which im not sure which) .... I really dont think its wise having that big cluster up where a cop can see it. ....ive already gotten pulled over twice within the last year and im not looking for another azzhole cop to pull me over again. In my town they dont do things like that but north newjersey and south newjersey ...... you give a 24yr old kid power they run with it.
