I have the Ingalls, but after looking at this one, its really no different. Even the brackets are identical. But just a heads up for everyone with one of these strut braced ETD..... Be careful of the AC suction hose rubbing up against the motor mount bracket. Which can cause a refrigerant leak, like I had. It sucked, and cost me $240. I wrapped my hoses up real good with a heat shielding adhesive wrap to help protect it, and keep it cool.

etd ordered a couple of days ago,
i hope it does something for an auto tc.
When I look at the engine and start the car, to my surprise I see the engine move around much more than I thought it would, which made me think that this might actually help the car a bit.
only concern is trying to get this to fit under the greddy strut bar.

I finally got around to installing it today.and I dont know if I installed it right because my car rattles super loud. but than possibly loud for me is quiet for aggressive tc modders.
I have the black bushings in and you can here a lot of rattle from the outside everytime I come to a stop.
Is this normal? I have this on an auto tc. I didnt bother tightening the nuts really tight on the damper piece, I just used my hands because I wanted to make sure it would reach the mounts.
Ive tightened the the bolts on the brackets though.
it sounds cool when I cruise, the engine gives off a whirly sound and when I accelerate it it sounds like raw engine roar, but when I stop it starts rattling really really loud. So loud that at a red light or stop sign I have to put it in park so its not as embarassing, people might think something in the engine is loose.
its not only in cabin noise, the rattle can be heard outside too every time I come to a stop.
should I try reinstalling it and tightiening all the lugs on the damper really tight? or is what im experiencing normal?
on a side note,
some impressions..
I dont get that downshift jerk anymore it accelerates smoothly now, and a plus is the engine makes a really cool whirly roar, sounds like a completely different engine.

Everything your experiencing is normal with these things. They are loud, pretty much plain and simple. Tightening the tension of the piston might only make it worse. I have mine set up about 75% to the tightest position (all the way screwed in). You can put a couplt layers of dynomat underneath the strut bracket to deaden some of the sound. Just dont put too much, then you wont get good tension on the mounting nuts. Put 2 full layers and it should help with the noise and rattle.... but it will still be there. Make sure the strut bracket nuts are tight!
Its a sacrifice.... wheel hop and crappy shifts / or a quiter idle. You decide.

I agree that that noise is unbearable at idle. I can deal with and vibration but I think the noise is from cavitating from side to side on the eyelits. I only use mine now when I go to the racetrac. Wondering if I put a pre-load on the damper would help or was I supposed to wondering.
