Default Dual intake....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33659

I have been looking at this for a while now and I'm still debating it. I know i'd probably be better off with getting a Weapon R of K&N or whatever, but I'm really not looking to spend a lot of money for that stuff. But do you think it'd work better than just what what i have now? I figure anything is better than stock.

If you buy that, you deserve it. Why even mention WeaponR? Do a search and figure out why no one recommends them. That filter in that auction uses foam that probably isn't designed for that use, but they make it at a low price in china, and they manage to sell it to suckers like you all day long.

Well im not a sucker if I did't buy it, that's why I was asking for opinions from car guys on here. But yeah I figured it wasn't good, but a second or third opinion doesn't hurt

Sounds pretty shady to me... especially being $25. Don't bother.

That has got to be the most negative and uninformative post I've ever read (DGTLLVR). I've seen one and only one post from someone who didn't like the WeaponR, everyone else that has it, loves it. I would stay away from any intake that costs $25, you're probably guaranteed a CEL. And exactly how does it produce more power just because it uses two cheap-___ foam "filters"

that foam doesnt make a dif, all its purpose is, is to protect from clean the air b4 it enters the engine. Anyfoam will work, just as long as it doesnt have holes in it.

Daveman: it's like a post count, but without numbers. As you post more, it will start filling up.

First of all, i believe that's just a filter, you'd still need the intake tube. Secondly, how's it going to provide "double the power" when the two filters just connect to the same tube? Air is going to follow the path of least resistance, so it's not neccessarily going to pull from both filters evenly, especially since one appears closer than the other.

IMO, the foam does matter. There can be big differences in the size of the holes and the amount of flow. Air flow thru the filter is important, thats why you're using it. If the foam is poor quality it could break down and get sucked into your engine.

It's called a "dual intake" because it's stupid and dumb.

...and here I was hoping that someone figured out how to dual-carb the 1nz fe.

I am not a car-guy but have always appreciated the looks of the old '68 volvo engines with their dual carb slant 4 set up.

It has been tested that foam filters considerably worse than regular conical filters...

If there are any HP gains to foam, it won't be of much use if you car is sucking up dangerous amounts of dirt.

IMO foam filters are only good if you buy it for your turbo and you get the HKS one's. But they do get dirty a lot faster and needs to be replaced sooner.

dual intakes are cool when you have a 300zx TT pushing over 500hp that needs it

BUT thats when you are over 500hp in a V6 TT that also have dual throttle bodies
