iv owned one that i got from ebay...i had heard that they leak pretty bad so when i got mine i took it apart and compleatly sealed it up...never leaked but never cought the oil either...the input and output are soooo close togather that oil just passes through, they are also not baffled so go figure.

imho its too much bs work to make it work properly. first you have to take it all apart and seal everything up with some teflon tape (dont trust the gaskets that come with it) and then you need to rig up a tube thats connected to either the inlet or outlet that will fit inside the can. this way atleast it has a snowballs chance in not allowing the oil to just pass through.

here is some pics of mine (i sanded it and painted it black)

well i already ordered it. it was only 20 bucks so if it doesnt work whatever, if it does work cool, ide rather just try and see if it collects some sludge. it would hurt more to not try than to try.

You take the oily air that normally comes from the crankcase ventilation (either by the valve cover or from the PCV valve) and send it through the tank so the oil gets trapped in a cleanable canister (the can) while the air ges re-reouted to the intake. The catch can is not a resevoir or oil supply. Its def a good thing to get in boosted vehicles. In the long run, it could save your turbo.

this is def off topic, but where can i get some scion t shirts and that nifty urban racer air freshener i see so often haha

and while were at getting opinions on ebay items. what about this

i never even ordered off ebay before, this oil can was the first thing i bought, im going on a shopping rampage for little ____ for my car. but i know i gotta be carefull. theres alot of scumbags out there.

For the oil catch can you want to have the can vent to atmosphere so that it does not cause a tornado effect within the can itself. Having the Oil catch can connecting to the crank case and then back to the intake manifold without venting is pointless. The main objective with the can is to catch blow-by. I hope that helps.

yes! u hook both tubes up to the ports int he valve cover.
that way the pressure in the head forces the oil out to the catch can.

as for the torque dampeners, I'd say no go.

I frequently use eBay, but I have learned that for mechanical parts, no.
I bought my intake off eBay, because a 3 inch tube is a 3 inch tube, its the filter that makes more difference than anything. But for anything that truly takes R&D, I'd probably stick away from.

thats just my .02
