wow, so then the clatter from the engine is NORMAL? i dont have any mods to the engine and its making the clatter. .....???

I would have to hear it in person really. 4 bangers are not the smoothest and quietest engines in the world. And the more you listen to an engine the more noises you notice A lot of small toyota engines make thier own little noises that are not necesarilly anything bad. Again, on the video, it was really hard to tell, and the camera looked to be in the engine bay, which will make it pick up a lot of noise anyway that may or may not be normal.

Yeah and I guess with the header in the front you hear more exhost valve noise since the header doesn't dampen as much of the valve noise as a cast iron manifold would plus xB's have the exhost header in the back of the engine. I would still get a compression check just to be on the safe side and maybe take a peek inside the valve cover through the filler cap with an optical scope to see if there is any unusual wear on the cam lobes. Dang I wish I could justify the cost of one of those scopes. Would be great for looking into walls when doing wiring or under the dash.

ok.. i just got back from the toyota service. they said its NORMAL! its just louder because the headers. so no worry.

my car does the same nopise besides the valve tick i hear sumthing actually inside the engine which i guess is the pistons but only hear them is when the car is idle not while i drive is that bad?
