also an AWD setup would need more horsepower$$$ than a FWD to achieve 10 seconds, drivetrain powerloss, thats why you see turbo tc's with 280hp walking 320hp evo's, it takes more power to drive all wheels than 2 (once you get off the line lol)

Thanks for all of the advice. I still have a few months before I make my decision. So I guess were going to play it by ear.

Get a car you would like, DO NOT PAY IT ALL AT ONCE! Then save at least 15k into an IRA and leave it there for 10 years.

listen brother

I just got discharged from the USMC and had about as much money as you.

I'm telling you right now to save your money. I saw too many of my brothers get discharged and turn flat broke and waste their enlistment in the Corps on a car they couldn't finish payments on. Save your money, use your GI bill, pocket your fafsa/or GI (depends on you) and go to school, or join SWAT (if your rifle quals are good enough).

Or better yet, take what that guy said and use your 65grand to make a down payment for a house.

Don't be another stupid ___ who thinks 65 grand is gonna last a long time cause it isn't, and I suggest you save it or buy something WITHOUT depreciating value.

my 0.02 from a fellow devildog.

a very effective swap would be the '04 Camry SE V6 engine... mainly because the 4cyl. Camry houses the 2AZ-FE engine (same as the tC)... and houses the tuned V6 engine in the SE and XLE models.

im sure you are gonna need to play around the tranny a bit to fit the V6 and may need more space in the engine bay...

the power: the 2004-2005 Camry SE 3.3L V-6 holds 225hp and 240tq. these numbers will increase on the tC and the 0-60 will reduce dramatically compared to the camry mainly because of the weight and dynamics.

but if you want Bad A$$ numbers (and a big fat bill) you can try to manage the new Camry/ Avalon's 3.5L V-6 which produces around 270 hp!!! and trust me the new Camry SE V-6 is blazin fast...
with the 3.5L V6 ur lookin at 0-60 numbers in mid to high 4second mark!

AWD: as far as the AWD goes you should not mess with the chassis cuz by now u r lookin at Spending enough money to buy another tC (maybe even two)mah aR

Or get the new Yamaha R... gangsta a$$ Bike!!

If u want ABSOLUTE STREET DOMINANCE... trade in ur tC and Put that 65G's for a down payment for the new GTR...

it wont be here until later this summer but still...

0-60 in 3.3secs. and a 11.6sec standing quarter mile!!!
all factory and full warranty!
its runnin 3.8L Twin Turbo V-6 making 480hp and 430tq

check out this article... it'll blow ur mind! btw this is production... not prototype!

gah, don't waste your money on car. if you really want to toy with your car.. set aside small amount of cash for your car and spend the rest on your future. I have way too many miltary buddies living out of trailer homes and their parents homes. my marine friend is going to join blackwater and go back to iraq because he can't afford to support his wife and daughter.

secure your future first before you buy expensive toys.

look, your going to have to do alot of work to get an all wheel drive train under a tc, probably something like the toyota rav 4 drivetrain. so your going to need alot of money and knowhow to get that working, and strenthened to work with a really powerful turbo kit.

from the sounds of your post, it sounds like you just watched fast and furious and are shouting out some buzz words like it is all just so simple.

"i want a 10 second car, so i'm going to make my tc a twin turbo with NOS and AWD! it will be the ish!"
what about the old AWD camry platform?
