Default exhaust hangers

does anyone know where i can get polyurethane exhaust hangers (if they even make them)? or just a more stiff hanger? my exhaust is hitting a section of my car slightly when the a/c is on, the idle drops low, basically anything that makes the exhaust vibrate.

so if anyone knows where i can get them, its much appreciated. or if you have any other ideas, that would be good too

i know exactly where mine is hitting. =\

but im also thinking about filling the hangers with caulk to stiffen it up, but i dont think that would last long.

thats it! thanks man. i might stop by a local auto store to see if them have them. the diameter of that hole looks really small. so i wouldnt wanna buy it and then have to return it.

but its only about $10... so i might try it anyway.

if that fails you can try your local muffler shop to help you modify it

Ya, I don't know if the diameter is a universal thing or not. I would think maybe it might be though. I imagine most exhaust companies would want to keep that sort of thing simple?

yeah typically it is the same size. but if its not, and with it being polyurethane, i wont be able to stretch it like the OEM rubber ones.

i think sunday (cause ill be out of town till then) ill go to some local auto stores to try to find them, or even go to a muffler shop like that one guy suggested.

and claudia, i will... but if your exhaust is melting your lip, you need more then a stiffer hanger. you need to relocate your tip a little. you have trd exhaust right? i dont see how that could be burning your lip

yup TRD and rs1.

apparently I'm not the only one and people told me its this lip only that doesnt fit with the trd exhaust

I have 2 options: stick something in the rubber exhaust hanger so it will push the exhaust down OR shave the lip a lil repaint it and put a heat shield

They have them at the auto parts store in the exhaust fittings section. They also have the metal pieces to weld on to the exhaust and connects to the hangers.

I've heard a few people taking a few small hose clamps and compressing the poly/rubber hangers which lets the exhaust hang lower. If you get extra hangars, you can take a bolt and connect the two hangers to make it longer. I have the same problem as Zach and need to get it looked at. I'm thinking about either one of those options or maybe even trying to bend the metal bars to try to get it away from the chassis and heat shields.

ya i went to auto zone today and got 2 diff types of hangers, im going to try them both, and see what drops my exhaust enough to slide the kit on and keep it from melting.... come this friday my kit will be completly on the damn car, viniati really needs to find a new manufacturer of there kits, side skirts are going to have to be molded, the f ront is going to have to be shaved in some spots to fit, and my exhaust hasta be lowered for the back to fit =/

When i stuck on a dual setup for my xB, one of my pipes' hanger bars was vibrating against the tie down bracket because the hanger was too soft. Instead of replacing the hanger i put some liquid electical tape on the end of the hager bar which creates a buffer that eliminates the vibration. My two cents.
