exhaust question
question. If i get an HKS muffler or any other kind of muffler, what else do i need to get? Like pipes? I went to a local shop and they said it would be slanted, i dont like that look at all. So do i need to by any pipes or anything or is it being slanted the only option, unless i get a full system.
Thanks
Thanks

most exhausts are 'axle-back' or 'cat back' so they are bolt on installations that fit with factory moutns.
hks hi-power exhaust is slanted, but does not need any additional modding to be put on.
some of hte popular exhausts are Borla, Draxas, Greddy, Injen, Megan, HKS. and all of those i believe are just bolt on kits that have no additional cutting/welding/piping necessary.

it wont just be the muffler... it has a pipe that connects to the midpipe. and yes, hks will be slanted but there are plenty that are not.
you wont need to buy any additional pipes, mounts, brackets, nothing. - for most exhausts that is.
The hks is not just a muffler, it is an axle back exhaust which connects near the rear axle.

Whether that would cost more than the "axle-back" (2-bolt install yourself) like vanberge mentioned (dude, they sell raw mufflers too, not just axle-back) will depend on the particular shop you go to. The axle-back is slanted, so if you want HKS and can't stand the slant, then a custom job is what you need.

Just make sure to do some research before buying...
for example
Do you want a header?
Do you want loud exhaust?
Do you want subtle, clean exhaust?
Just make sure you know what you want the sound to be, and do some digging into your options. I read this message board for like 5 weeks before making my mind up to get a Greddy sp2 axleback...

well i have a PM axelback (PM= Precision Muffler.com). i like it and its very quiet and stock looking. I just bought a universal muffler and going to get the piping done sometime soon. I wanted a different sound and something not many ppl have which is only 1 other person i know that did this! It sounded really good. Its all Titanium. Ill post pics when i get it in!
