HP and torque can be measured at the flywheel or the drive wheels. I fail to see how gearing is irrelavent to the topic, since gearing will affect the HP and torque available at the wheels.

Now if the topic said HP vs TQ at the flywheel, I'd understand your point. . .

hp measured at both wheel and crank ya true. but everyone was talkin about speed and who would win a race etc. which was running astray.

so hp vs tq... mainly a FAQ page not a debate page

Now a practical question. On a tc with Injen CAI, light flywheel + pulley. Which header and exhaust will produce the most acceleration gains between 3K-6K rpm's(due to torque or horsepower gains)? People who don't know WTF your talking about need not reply. I give respect where respect is due!

"still a dumb thread..mental masturbation. imo"

Better than:
Mental Annihilation
Mental Asphyxiation
Mental Degradation
Mental Depravation
Mental Regurgitation

How about offering something "constructive" IF your knowledgable?

There is a thread on here that showed a comparison between the different headers. Look at that, and pick the one with the most horsepower improvement over the range you're interested in. If I remember correctly, the MMW would be the best, but since it includes an s pipe, it might be hard to gauge it against the others. All of the others were pretty close in performance, so if I were you, I'd go with Megan, because its pretty nice, and can be found for cheap. I got mine for 180.

I've looked @ the header comparison many times. I'm setting my tc up for autocross. So winning could come down to hundreths of a second. Megan has best price hands down but 2hp could make a difference. I'm trying to decide between 4-2-1 or 4-1. MMW's numbers are sufficiently skewed to make it virtually impossible to read true output. Their dyno:
A-shows flywheel horsepower
B-includes a s-pipe
C-includes an intake(I know this because I found an older dyno that shows 14tq and 15hp gains also@flywheel)

But this older dyno appears to show larger gains after 4K than alphawerks. Thus my question which will truely make the car faster?

MMW's headers are made by weapon-r. Conclusion? The quality is crap compared to what you could have with the $500+ (for the tC) you spend on their header. They claim 21whp with the header, but i believe its 21hp (crank) with S-pipe. Its more than likely around 10whp with just the header, i could be wrong but i wouldn't use any weapon-r products. It's hit or miss wether you will have issues in the long run. You can pick up a weapon-r header for $100 yet MMW because it replaces the first cat, charges near $500? To me, thats a huge jump for something not worth it.

You want a 4-2-1 race header that bad? Go custom, you will spend around the same amount and the outcome will be much better in terms of quality and possibly see a few more whp out of it.
