Default Flowmaster On Scion TC?

Ok, So here's the story. For my boyfriends birthday he wanted a full exhaust and he told me there was this good shop that was pretty cheap about 185$ for setup exhaust tip and everything. His friends all went their and said they did a good job. He doesn't know jack about cars and really neither do I but we decided to try it out. Got it all installed everything seemed fine. But when we were testing out the sound by doing drive by's it sounded fine when he was just cruising..you know going a typical speed but when he pushes on the gas to speed up it sounds mo ped "ish". After reading up something I should have done before this whole incident I find out flowmasters are more for trucks and v6's to v'8..Is this true because if so I made a BIG mistake. Or, could it just be that the shop didn't install it correctly.

you are too flippn' sweet to get your bf a catback for his bday.

the only thing to do is either replace it with magnaflow, or
just get a new catback/axleback.

and it's the thought that counts. you made no mistake.

Dammmmmmmmmn...That sucks...They made whole new piping for his muffler to reach to the engine I guess you'd say. Would it be possible for us just to buy a new cat back and have them install that instead of reinstalling EVERYTHING? I want it to be perfect..Even If I have to go another 200 dollars in the hole.

Well, So we were testing it out. And actually maybe I was just overthinking this whole exhaust situation. I actually kind of liked it. It was pretty deep. I need to make a video recording of it and see what you guys think. What was making me think it sounded so bad was listening to it from the inside of the car. The vibrations are what threw me off. Well, besides that. To make my night EVEN better. He got rear ended an hour ago by some chick who tried to run a red light. Now he needs a new bumper. Well, atleast it didn't damage the exhaust, right? lol. Thanks for making me feel better guys. It helped mucho grande!

I'm glad you got the exhaust thing fixed, and sorry to hear he got rear-ended. Hope he's ok.

Oh yeah, uhhh, got an older sister? LOL

did they put in a resonator and a high flow cat? if not those will help greatly. if you don't like the muffler you could always just change the muffler, no need to change the piping. if you are swapping out the muffler i would suggest a mangaflow one. i would also suggest them for your high flow cat and resonator. if they didn't but either of those in, you can swap out exhausts untill you're blue in the face and still see the same sound.

yeah a high flow cat would help you out alot since you have all straight pipe. it must be hella loud.
