Front Crank Seal?

Front Crank Seal?
Hey guys I can't really find what I am looking for maybe someone can help, I have been leaking some oil in the garage, and I believe it leaks and sprays on some of my under carriage behind my oil pan and the dealership said it could be my Front Crank Seal or something. I have had the NST Crank pulley and took it off and then this happend. Does anyone know how hard it would be to change the Crank seal and put a new oil pan gasket on it? The dealership said if they did it then it would be around $600, but I am going to have a local mechanic (friend) and myself do it. What do you guys think? I am trying to figure out the process if doing it..? Thanks!

There are 2 seals on the crankshaft. 1 is on the drive side of the crank, in which you would have to drop the trans and remove the flywheel to get to it. The other is on the timing chain cover (behind the crank pulley) which you will need to remove the timing chain cover to remove and reinstall a new one. It is a HUGE pain to take the timing chain cover off with the motor in the car. Better luck just pulling the motor
As far as the pil pan gasket, its just toyota sealant. No actual gasket. That can be removed easily, you may want to take off the s pipe. It makes it a bit easier. Theb just drop the pan, clean off the old sealant off the pan and crankcase surfaces with a razor blade, apply new sealant and re-install

You can do the front main seal without taking the timing chain cover off Once you remove the pulley you have to cut it out, than tap a new one in with a large socket. Been there done that. As for the oil pan, its not bad at all, remove, scrape sealant, apply new fipg and reinstall. Total cost (provided you do the labor yourself) - FIPG - $10, Front main seal - $8

Thanks guys!! So I have got the parts now, do I just remove my crank pulley or all the pulleys and pull the case off? I'm new to internal stuff. I am guessing my NST pulley is the culprit and putting my OEM one back. Thanks for all the help, I feel lost man!

just remove the crank pulley and tear the old seal off then tap the new one in just how thendawg explained. real easy if you don't have to take the timing chain off. i've changed out the front main seal before on other cars but never on a tC and i had to take the timing belt/chain off and that process was a pain...
make sure you take note of how deep the seal is pressed in before you tear it out so that when you tap the new one in, it's not sticking too far out or too much in you know?
