!!!!Fujita Cold Air Intake...Please read!!!!

Its weird how diff tC's from the same year can be so different...
what with some working with the antifouler and some not.
and this whole intake CEL thing.
I think I'm just gonna use the fender pipe and some how hook it up to my Weapon R.

stock intake "was" back on and over 200miles with no codes or cel...just today i went down to PTuning in Manassas, Va and purchased myself the 07 Injen CAI...only 28 miles on the Injen CAI but no cel as of now....ill keep everyone upto date on injen....
#44
The results are in.......over 100miles now with Injen CAI and everything checks out perfect...the evaporative system was the last to do its system check and now my OBD2 says everythings normal, no pending codes and no cel.
#45
As for the Fujita, theres a few noticable differences like the filter size is alot larger on Fujita.....then you have the pipe on the Injen reduces at the MAF sensor, it doesnt on Fujita... and also the exhaust recirculation enters the intake right before the throttle body on the Injen....and Fujita it enters about 8-10inches past the MAF sensor on the last bend......

A pending code shows up on the OBD2 code reader but has not made the MIL "CEL" come on yet.
With the problem I had the pending code would be there and once the evaporative system does its final check it would throw a CEL with the P0101

ok, to Tricked and other fujita owners... i rode with fujita intake for a little over 400miles, had a cel after about 20 miles, kept in on there, the car ran fine, no idle issues, to RPM issues, perfect car except for the CEL... get in my car to go to work, the light is on like usual, get to work (about 8 miles) park it for the day, go back to it 10 hours later and drive off, i look at my dash and think somethings not right... my CEL is off... its been off for about 20 miles now... ill post back in a few days to let you know if its still of or not...
maybe the car needs a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to learn how to deal with the larger piping???

^^Should'nt need more than about 5 mins of idle + easy first couple miles for ECU to adjust to increased air flow.
Injen has bigger pipes (3") and haven't heard of this intermittent CEL on their intakes.

Just to keep a sense of balance, I didn't have any CEL problems with my 2007 Fujita CAI.
I know that doesn't help those who have had issues, but it also doesn't mean all of the units are of poor quality.

It's good to hear some people are not having issues i didn't want this thread to be bad for Fujita just informational. I measured the pipes for Injen and Fujita the pipe at the MAF where it reduces on Injen is the same size as the entire Fujita,
I actually liked the Fujita and just like Orange said I didn't have any other problems but the CEL, I hope the CEL stays off for ya. The Fujita sounded a lot better but I think Injen beats them in the performance side of it. Either way.

I have a fujita CAI and I had a bypass valve on but it always made a whistling noise when my foot was on the gas. I was told it was because of the bypass valve and also because my car was an automatic. But now I took off the bypass valve and the noise is still there until I hit about 40 or 50 mph or my foot is off the gas. I know this is alittle off the subject but maybe someone could help.
#54
Whistling noise from any CAI is normal, has nothing to do with bypass valve or transmission choice.
Some folks say they can hear the stock intake whistle as well. It's sort of a CAI itself since the intake tube extends into the fender a little ways.

So it sounds like brake squeal? That's not right.
If so check the install of the CAI - make sure the rubber couplers are on right, hose clamps tight - including down at the filter, breather hose on tight, MAF sensor screws tight.

I had my Fujita CAI installed like a couple of months ago. Everything was fine and then the CEL came on after about 150 miles. Disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes. Everything was cool until I reached the 960 mile mark & the CEL came back on. I'm gonna' double check everything again. I'll repost later with any updates.

OK so after about 250 miles the CEL came back on, but this time it was on for about 200 miles and then it finally stopped. I would agree with orangesuburban, I guess the car just needs to get use to it. I'll post back if anything happens anytime soon.
