will installing a full exhaust system starting at the headers pass emission? my cat is bad (code P0420) and i'd rather do this than pay $1300 at the dealer for it to get fixed.
if so around how much is it and what brand and model do you guys recommend? i know the price varies depending on brand and the shop but im just looking for somewhat of an estimate? i got around $700-$800 to spend on it

Which catalytic converter is bad, the one in the exhaust manifold or the mid pipe? You can find one used search on CL.

the one on the exhaust manifold, i dont think the computer picks up the one on the midpipe. i checked craigslist already. i live in las vegas and not alot of stuff pops up over here. i kind of want to go aftermarket though. i guess my real question would be if its safe to do so. like passing emission wise
