Getting to 185 whp N/A
#2
i think you could do it. the dyno on mine was 147.5 hp that was only exaust cold air. now if you get a piggyback or something to tune the computer you could easily get 10 - 20 extra horse out of those parts. and if you added all the bolt ons that you can get for the tc i think you could

Yes, it can be done, and you might be able to get there with bolt-ons. Get yourself an Injen CAI and then a header, s-pipe, and full exhaust to free up as much of the engine as you can. Run an underdrive pulley and a lightened crank pulley.
Get a Power Enterprises Camcon or a GReddy E-Manage and tune the living hell out of it.

I/H/E/P and e-manage, that's what I'm about to try. Just bought the e-manage Ultimate, and witing for the Dezod EMS to be paid and brought. Then tune, and expect 15-25whp with Primium Gas. Few months later, maybe a port & polish.

Your compression ratio isnt changing, so 87 octane will be fine.

As far as I know, an e-manage ultimate allows for ignition map alterations. If that's true and you run significant timing advance, you'd be wise to use higher octane fuel unless you'd like to meet a man called Mr. Det.

hmm i suppose thats true, i just cant see adjusting the timing that much, but in any case i see how youre right

Timing will yeild some power if you have the gas for it.
I/H/E.
Port the head, and have the exhaust side port matched with your header to ensure maximum efficiency. That will make for some good power. A custom intake manifold with larger TB, and a port matched intake setup will give you great power.
With a fully ported head (including port matching), intake mani w/TB, intake (a good intake), header, exhaust (not just a muffler, and replace the midsection), NST pulley, and a good tune, I'd say 200whp is attainable.
