Default Glasspack or Resonator? Maybe both?

as i heard: glasspack for deeper sound.. resonator is to resolve the rasp....

so. i have a megan racing headers.... planning to get a HKS universal muffler... then taki it to the muffler shop and let them to install. but.

i hate when an exhaust system is not sound deep enough ( tuned honda sound use to make me puke)

so.. i was thinkin to get glasspack AND resonator and put it on the midpipe.

what do you guys think? good idea? or bad??? and if i do it: instead of just go with the resonator , with this setup im gonna have less HP?

Default That right sound with performance

I had a custom cat-back system built by a local shop with a flowmaster muffler just because 1) I didn't want a raspy tuner sounding system and 2) I couldn't take not have ANY exhaust note with the stock muffler.

That said, I am still looking to upgrade my cat-back exhuast to a system that offers best performance with a deep sportscar tone. I've narrowed it down to the Magnaflow system and have heard good things about the Borla system offered for the tC.

They are more expensive in general but from what I have found so far, offer the best performance/sound for the money.

You can, but I wouldn't do it when using a regular muffler too, like the HKS you intend to install. Either pick one to go with your HKS muffler, or use the resonator, and then a glasspack as the muffler instead of the HKS.

No, not with the stock exhaust, I was trying to say that a glasspack IS a muffler. If you really want to use the HKS muffler, then make a choice, either use the resonator or a glasspack instead of the resonator. Put another way, don't use all 3.

Because glasspacks have been used as mufflers for many years. They come in many different diameters and legnths, there isn't just one size. They're popular on muscle cars and pickups in the south, where many people use them to replace the stock mufflers, because they produce a deep tone and they're relatively inexpensive. I personally used to have them on my '71 Mercury Montego MX and a '67 Chevy pickup, both of which I owned many years ago. That's just glasspacks, no resonators or other mufflers were used.

Now, how can I call it a muffler? Do you know what a "muffler" is? Let's define the term;

Main Entry:
muf·fler Listen to the pronunciation of muffler
Pronunciation:
\ˈmə-flər\
Function:
noun
Date:
circa 1536

1 a: a scarf worn around the neck b: something that hides or disguises
2: a device to deaden noise; especially : one forming part of the exhaust system of an automotive vehicle

That's from this site, and yes, a glasspack is a muffler too.
