you aren't going to get alot of hp from exhaust. it is just piping. search, there is a great buyers guide.

and if you want my pick, dezod stainless steel s-pipe back exhaust for n/a and supercharged tc's.

Just an exhaust (no aftermarket header) will maybe give you an extra 10BHP.

your exhaust consists of a series of pipes leading from the exhaust port of your engine to the back of your car, starting with the header, the header connects to the s-pipe, which connects to the mid pipe, that then goes to the axel back that goes to the back of the car.

the more of these components you replace, the more efficient your exhaust gets to a certain point.

there are certain negatives. if you replace the header, you eliminate your catyltic convertor, and unless you use some sort of anti-fouler, you'll get a check engine light. also, aftermarket header combined with a aftermarket exhaust creates rasp, which is a nasty high pitched noise. to remedy this you need to have one or two large resonators welded onto the the pipe to eliminate this.

it is all just pipes, but there are some methods to doing it right. and remember, you get what you paid for when it comes to performance.

This is definitely a tC, right? If it's an xB, no axleback is going to give you a major increase.

What else is done to the car right now?

you can get even MORE performance with cams lol JP just make sure you don't go too big on the tubing or you will not make as much power i would say 2.25"-2.5" max

Be prepared for a much louder car, making around 10whp more in the top end and losing 5whp in the low end.

either put the header back, or have a new high flow cat welded onto your exhaust.

nope, they don't, you have to get a muffler shop to weld a universal high flow cat onto your exhaust somewhere, then make a bung in the pipe and extend the O2 sensor to reach it so you don't get a CEL.

Exhausts really arent the end all be all performance mod. You dont get much gain from a H/I/E setup. If anything you get a louder car and if done wrong raspier car. I suggest you get whatever looks and sounds best to you.

Like everyone said, exhaust alone with intake won't yield a huge increase. K&N cai will only provide 1-3hp in low-mid rpm (might lose hp in some case.) They advertise 7.5hp at redline which most people don't do in daily driving. Same theory applies to exhaust. Max hp is achieve at redline; not low-mid rpm. Most I've seen from an exhaust on a NA vehicle is around 1-5hp. FI vehicle can see gains anywhere from 3-15hp all because of different setup and tuning.

ok, well all i know is that the ark dt-s exhaust is suppose to provide 12hp, with the header and ____, it gets up to 26hp, but its kinda pricey since i would have to get the high flow cat

If you're going for max hp, then go for it. But you still won't feel all that in city driving or stop and go traffic. Maybe on an empty street or at a drag strip you'll notice the difference close to redline.
