Default Greddy SE on my bumper

Yo everyone,

Just installed my Greddy SE yesterday and noticed that its sitting on my bumper. I pulled all the rubber hangers off and checked to see if they were of equal lengths. I noticed what I thought one was slightly longer, so I put that closest to the exhaust tip, with no luck of getting it to hang lower. I can pull the tip down several inches to strech the hanger, and have about a 1 finger gap between the tip and my bumper, but while driving it sneaks back up.

I havent pulled it back off yet to try and bend the hangers or anything like that. A friend was telling me about some subaru hangers that are a little bit longer I can order. I am about to pull the last hanger off and let it sit lower.

After some reading I think I am going to stick a bottle cap in the hanger

Guess this is a good heads up for someone installing the Greddy RS

I actually bought the Torque Solution polyurethane long exhaust hangers to get my TRD axle-back off of the bumper, I'm running their regular size PU exhaust hangers on the mid pipe and where the axle back bolts up, and has tucked the exhaust up but the last rear hangers by the bumper have been troublesome. Using the Torque Solution standard PU hangers will have the muffler tip touching the bumper, running the long PU hangers will have the muffler tip too low from the bumper. Best bet is using a bottle cap off of a soda and insert it in the gap of the OEM hanger, should be able to do two if need more clearance. I'm going to have to switch the long PU hanger at the driver side by the bumper as my axle back has a lean to it now.

Hi JBell91,

We want to help your situation as much as we can. There should be an additional hanger provided which is to be used on the middle bracket. Also before you tighten down all the bolts, have a second set of hands assist you by holding the muffler in place and then tighten accordingly. This will help set the muffler in place as well. If you have any pictures, I can show my tech department and they can give suggestions as well. Thanks.

^ Interesting you mention the hanger, I was under the assumption one would be supplied as this is my first time installing an exhaust. I did not receive one in my box..and I made sure I checked everything incase I did forget anything. There was a white box (which I assume where the hanger should of been) with a license plate frame, a sticker, and some sheets of paper.

I will post pictures up when I get home (before I put the bottle cap in for now).

Thanks guys!
Jason

I'd probably add a second bottle cap, looks a bit close still. Keep checking on it after going for a drive.

This was before I put the bottle cap in there. It has about the same clearance as the stock exhaust did.

The Kartboy hangers work great. I had them on my old Subaru! They should give you the clearance you need without it hanging too low.

I think the regular size will get it close to the bumper again, and the long hangers will hang to low. If their lengths are the same as Torque Solution neither size will work, now if there's a medium length then it'll be perfect. I should have taken pics with the different hangers installed.

I was under the impression you had the RS since you mentioned it previously but upon looking at your pictures you purchased the SE which will not come with an additional hanger bracket. This will have 3 metal hangers installed on the exhaust system which will utilize OEM rubber hangers. The rubber hangers should all be of equal length so it wouldn't matter which location you install them on.

I hope this helps

Did you order all long ones? I want to order 5 for when I do the mid pipe, but not sure if those will need the standard length ones, or longer ones.

Yea I noticed they are all the same length when I pulled them off and compared them to each other. Think I just need to order the kartboy hangers.
