Greddy SP2 exhaust with pictures

Despite the sound level outside, you can barely hear it inside the car.
Product Info: 60mm/2.4inch piping. SP = Street Performance. Full stainless steel construction.
Price: $400 from www.houseofscion.com. I picked it up since their office is nearby.
Installation: Easy. Reuses stock exhaust bolts and springs. Greddy supplies 2 nuts to bolt on.
Sound: Very quiet, but louder than stock (obviously). With the windows down and the radio at volume 30, you cant hear it at all. Once you get past 3K rpm, you'll hear it better. I've only put 20 miles on it, so it hasnt been fully broken in. My car has the stock intake with a K&N panel filter and charcoal filter removed, otherwise all engine/exhaust components are stock.
Why I bought it: I want to keep my TC mildly modified. Plus I'm not a fan of the N1/Hi-Power canister style. I was close to buying the HKS Hi-Power (I love HKS products, hence my screen name), but I didnt like how it is angled (angled too far to the side, and not upward enough). The HKS Hi-Power is also $50 cheaper. I used to have an old school SP1 back in the day, so it brings back memories. LOL.
Overall Impression: If youre looking for a subtle and clean exhaust, this is it. If you want something more racey and blingin', then go with something else. The muffler canister sits higher than stock, so its hard to see it. I was surprised this exhaust is not CARB legal (at least no documentation was included, and Greddy's website doesnt mention it.), but I doubt anyone will get a ticket for the noise level.
This is why I want to keep my TC mild. My 240 is stripped (literally) of all comfort accessories, except power steering. Compared to the 240sx, the TC feels very slow but very luxurious.
I went with something mild for my 240 also (RSR Exmag. 3 inch piping. no cat). I used to have an Apexi N1 turbo exhaust, but it drew too much attention (cops particularly) and I got tired of the long-narrow canister look.

wow looks real clean....im surprised to see the exhaust isnt CARB legal...i thought all GReddy exhausts were like 50 state leagal or something...isnt that what they are known for?

any exhaust (with in the 90 some odd db limit) is legal in CA as long as its from the CAT back. its from the cat forward (header, intake) that you need a carb # for.
ive been doing tons of research on the carb subject latley cause im moving back in less then 18 months and i dont want to replace any parts when i get popped for smog checks.

Thanks for the video... it was very helpful. Again thanks HKSpeed. It sounds awesome... not too loud, but not too quite. Perfect for a naturally inspired car.
One question only... the video was of the Exhaust only, w/o intake, headers or anything else, right?
