the thing is, my transmission is basically new. i did a auto to manual swap and the transmission only had 900 miles on it. so i put at least 1500 miles on it now. anyways, i put in redline mt-90 gear oil today and the grinding went away.. i think the gear oil that the shop put in my tranny when i did the swap was cheap stuff.

yeah a lot of people have said really good things about that redline mt90.. hopefully that fixed it. Although it is a used transmission... you never know what some idiot did to it for 900 miles i had a friend in high school that only used the clutch when he stopped.... not to shift, ever... needless to say that transmission didnt last a year.

well, i had the shop inspect it before it was put on. the synchros were basically in perfect shape and the overall cleanliness of the transaxle looked like it just came from the factory. i bought it from my local junkyard.. the backend was completely crushed. the frontend was untouched and was able to get a few goodies. but anyway, tested the car again during a cold start and the grinding noise is no longer there. hopefully it will stay that way.
