Has anyone actually hydrolocked with a CAI?

well if someone was to drive through an unexpected puddle and cant avoid it, if you drive a manual trans go a good speed enough to make it past the puddle compensating for water resistance, may not work in 2 feet of water but just put it in neutral and turn off the engine and roll through it (no air suction = no hydrolock) saved my engine twice, and i assume for automatics you can put the car in neutral(N) then do the same but leave in neutral when you start back up because there is a neutral safety switch where the engine will not start in a "drive" gear, but manual's can hold the clutch the whole time, so if you ever had that situation this could help you out practice makes perfect do it on a dry day practicing turning off your car while driving and turning it back on, im not responisible for anyone who tries this just a manuever i learned to work 100% of the time but i have been doing this since my first car in 2002 when i had a CAI installed(and dropped with bodykit)

I didnt fully hydrolock but my car stalled.
I had the fujita CAI and NO FENDER LINER because I Am so low.. I didnt even go over a puddle of water.. it just stalled on me in second gear with really hard rain.
Car started after 30 - 40 minutes of waiting.
Barely made it home because the engine was putting with white smoke out the exhaust.
In the end all was fine. changed my oil and sold my intake.
Never will I ever get a CAI again. The end.

I am also weary to place a CAI on the car again since I lost my wheel well covers =/
The ____ty thing is that I can still have liners on the car since it is not too low (h-techs) but during an installation we did not have all of the clips and the liners flew off on the free way haha.
I dunno if I want to buy them again =/

you need to drive in to a lake to hydrolock your engine....
im talking about scion tc.. not tiburons and other cars... they cai sits differently..
im in fl.. and sometimes it rains so much i couldnt even see the road.. and the bad side of this that the rain doesnt go NOWHERE.. it will sit on the road for another few hours..
im lowered, i got cai but i have the fender liner so no problem yet and i have driven into so deep waters that i would call them mini lake...
i you have no fender liner.. or you dont have that small clip on plastic fake grill on the front then dont go cai.
otherwise you are good.. btw when i drive in to a really deep water i open the door and check it if the water will come in the cabin.. if not, then its not that deep to reach the cai
