Default Header for 09 Scion TC?

What are some headers for the 2009 Scion TC. I want the DC 421 header but all the sites say 05-08 TC. But would it work on the 09 or is the header for the 09 a while different type than the 05-08?

different headers. well, header.

DME
DC Sports
Megan
Alphawerks
MMW
Ebay.

stay away from ebay ones.

and to be honest, I'd just stay away from a header in general unless you want to do exhaust work to get rid of the rasp.

just trust me on that

and to my knowledge 08 and 09 are the same, websites just probably haven't updated the listings.

as already stated, a header is useless. very minimal power gains and a very raspy exhaust which costs a penny to correct and still might not sound good. i laugh when i a see a tc with a header, its such a waste of money!

I've gone down that road thinking, they're just picky, and I wouldnt mind that rasp, but in order for it to honestly sound good, you'll have to go through a lot more work than you think.

If you have a lot of extra money just laying around, with absolutely nothing else to buy, then I suppose, but I'd pick something else on the list.

^^ thats not true. theres a significant notice in power gains with the monster motor work headers. its a 4-2-1 and its really noticeable. Its actaully renamed now and called weaopon r headers. its a header s pipe combo as well.

I'm not going to say there isn't any hp gain, but in all honesty,
for the 400 for the weapon r header, and another 100 to kill the rasp, I think there are much better things to spend that much money on.

But hey, I'm not gunna hate anyone for buying a header. I did. I'm just passing on my experiences to better give the OP an idea of what to expect.

The like 2 whp you gain from a header isnt worth how ____ty it makes your exhaust sound. Toyota R&D did a VERY good job designing the stock header and cat. Because they did, an aftermarket header doesnt add too much.

Post the dyno or your argument is useless.

You fail! Trust me, in the amount of money you throw into your exhuast, your better off getting nitrous or saving for a turbo!

^ what he said

But for what it's worth...add a header...preferably Strup, get a catback exhaust, not axleback, add a quality resonator Aero AR25 or Vibrant Ultra Quiet. You might still have a little rasp in the higher RPMs but it'll sound damn good under 4000rpm.

I bought my MMW header for the car cause my wife thought it looked pretty........true story......I put it on for the car show portion of it use......

but honestly if you put on a header be sure to first and I meen first go get resonators to install,be sure you do not have the TRD exhaust, and you will be fine, the sound the car makes with a header is compared to a weedwacker on crack........no lie.

What I found great was running my car with no cannister ont he back and jsut resonators and OMG it sounded like a Indy car high pitched and horrid,as it was not going 200mph and not running 11000 rpms......lol

By the way, the DC headers are fake 4-2-1, they're just 4-1.

see what i dont get is why noobs come on here asking for advice and then letting it go in one ear and out the other. If your not going to head the advice your requesting for, dont both posting. This is the last time i will try to reiterate this, A HEADER IS USELESS ON A TC. go put one on your honda!

I wouldn't say they're "fake" 4-2-1... they're just.... not... 4-2-1. Some sites advertise them that way because they don't know any better. They've always been 4-1.
