^^^ i hear what you are saying. good to know from someone that has done it. my header is jet hot coated but still scared the heat will mess up my s/c shaft. that was the only reason i was looking into header wrap. im still searching for a aftermarket heat shield.

wrapped Im not 100% sure... so dont want to stick my foot in my mouth...but its minimal at best. I know that the Jet-Hot coating adds a 3% overall total vehicle HP increase. so example. if you're at 160bhp... you'd get a 4.5HP gain. Me at 185ish will see about a 5.5HP gain. The hp gain is not the main reason to do this mod. you lower the under hood temp by 300 degrees F. and everything will last longer and run better.

yea i understand. thats the only reason i had my wrap on. under hood temps. so even without the wrap i probably wouldnt notice any difference in performance.

I'll have to let you know after I have it re-dyno'd. But when I had it done I was told that the average gains to be expected were at least 20%.

are you running an aftermarket header?... if so... you can carefully make a small indentation in the highest exhaust pipe. Thats what Ive heard a lot of other people with the s/c setup do when they put on an aftermarket header. but the Jet Hot wont mess anything up. It would help if anything.

well if you dont want to shell out for another header down the road sooner than later then taking it off is a good idea especially since you only have 1K with the wrap on.

yeah b/c the one cylinder's exhaust header tube sits up a bit. I've heard people, when the header is cold to simply carefully take a ball-peined hammer to it and make a small indentation in it. then clearance for the s/c shaft clears fine.

if the weapon r has the clearence thats cool. I just know that others that are running the Megan Racing header have very minor clearence issues with the s/c shaft. thats all.

ic ic.. thats great advice but the weapon R header clears the shart really nice. maybe the meagan header ppl out there can do this b/c heard that some are not clearing the shaft. i was just concern about the heat even with the jet hot coating. might just be paranoid. like i said im still looking for a aftermarket heat shield.

yea i hear ya. dont want to lose the s/c because of a few hp from a header that could have been avoided.

Yeah I dont know if it is limited to the Megan Racing header...but its a minor modifcation for clearance.

as for the Jet Hot coating. you should pull up their site. They got their start in coating exhausts for U.S. Military jetfighters to reduce the engine temps. They are a pretty bad@ss company that have been around for many years doing big military contracts. that would help the temp for you big time and most headers can be done for 100 bones or less.

no not necessarily.... it depends on the temp resistance of the coating you get.... here is the site.
