I use a mechanical (screw on thing that moves the O2 sensor back) anti-fouler that has fixed my problem entirely.

I use a fancy electronic anti-fouler and it has solved my problem.

I've tried every fix and I still have a CEL. I'm either unlucky, or I hurt my O2 sensor somehow.

Header CEL Situation Round-Up
Well, since my headers are on the way and I'm fairly worried about the CEL situation (I have a mechanical CEL screw-on anti-fouler coming also) I figured I'd survey the whole board to see where everyone is at. As most of you are well aware, adding aftermarket headers chops the first cat in the TC off, making the secondary O2 sensor in the s-pipe unhappy.
If this is useful, maybe we can sticky it and get closer to an understanding of how widespread this problem is.

This is a great poll. I just got my dc headers today for really cheap but I am concerned about the CEL and inspection here in Maine when April rolls around. But since its taking the 1st Cat away, I might just as well keep it only for show time. I hope people respond to this.

im thinking its a hit or miss kinda thing...

When I think about it, i recall my state inspection officer telling me I cant touch my cat, and since its on the header I wonder if I can change the mid pipe with the 2nd cat.
Would using an anti-fouler that pushs the senosr back fail inspection?

wow, then I guess my DC sports header is for nothing, But I know mods when Im on my way to shows are okay. I read something like that about other mods in my state inspection manual that was in pdf format.

I posted that I didnt have a CEL after the Antifouler but when I got the custom catback the CEL came on about 400 miles after. I restarted my ECU and havent had a CEL yet and after about 500 miles now.

Stock exhaust + Megan header
I got the cel with 40 miles. Then I installed the antifouler and got my CEL at around 185. I reset the ECU to see how long it will last this time.
It seems that the only header that causes this type of problem is the Megan. DC sports and AW are working fine with the antifouler, apparently. Therefore, someone with the Megan header who does not have the CEL on, please share the trick!

I have a megan racing header V2, been on for over 7500 miles. use a mechanical antifouler made by yours truley. been great no check engine light up untill about 100 miles ago. got a code for secondary o2 no signal. pulled out my anti fouler and the small hole on the bottom was plugged with carbon build up. cleaned it off and has been great since.
