Default Header Coating? Is painting black do-able?

I have a DC Sports header but I want it to be black in color. Does anyone know how or where I could have it painted black with heat resistent paint that will stand up to the heat of the header?

I want a flat black or something similar. Not glossy at all. Just Black that wont crack or peel off

dont paint it. get it ceramic coated (which is jet hot). I had my header (alpha werkz) custom ceramic coated with a polished finish (pics in profile) which ran me $200 (because i had a poished finish).

look around ur area for a powdercoating shop, they typically do ceramic coating as well. call around and get quotes. but i dont suggest painting it

Yeah definately don't paint it. I painted my stock header with that wonderful dupli color high temp 5K degree paint. It didn't even last 5 minutes. As soon as i pulled out of the driveway, i smelled something weird and looked under the hood. The paint had burned off before i even got off of my street. And yes it was fully cured

You might also try Calico Coatings. May be a lil cheaper than Jet-Hot. CoolBlack Coating: An ultra high temperature matte black ceramic coating that can withstand extended exposure to EGT of 1700 degrees. http://www.calicocoatings.com/coatin..._coatings.html

I think it's anywhere between $80-$200 depending on the coating. Go through Jet-Hot directly: http://www.jet-hot.com/

My heat sheild is coated Jet-Hot Sterling Silver for show purposes, but they coat headers for NHRA Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars (over 7000 whp), and from what I've seen in person, the coating holds up well in those extremes.
