Header/HighFlow Cat/Resonator Set-up?
Hi Scion Life,
Im looking to add headers to my tC, but i don't want the raspiness of all the ricers out there I want a nice deep sound. I was wondering if any of the enthusiasts out here have a set-up like this: Headers,s-pipe,midpipe w/ high flowcat, resonator, and a axleback exhaust. If so it would be great if i can see a sound clip or video clip of your set-up, and what exactly you used for the set-up..
Thanks,

Didn't want to risk.. anyway got a ticket for driving my tc 130.. 11/1 need to go to court !!

I have AEM CAI, DC Sports headers, Greddy Evo 2 exhaust. It has a deep sound to it without the raspy sound, still running stock s-pipe, stock #2 cat, and resonator, I'm thinking of swapping that all out but don't want that raspy sound either?!

thanks for the feed back guys i want to go for the set-up that i mentioned just not to sure yet... maybe a different exhaust like the Greddy SP2 instead of the TRD cuz it's a much more dimmer sound and i think it will help silent the raps.

My setup is raspy, Megan headers and midpipe and greddy dt axel back exhaust. The 2500 rpms is basicly where everyone gets the rasp, but i dont want to put in a high flow cat cuz that just ruins the point of having a high preformance exhaust. I heard about people puting in another 30inch resonator to the megan midpipe and got rid of 90% of the rasp.( i like that idea but once u start cutting the welding parts to the exhaust, it will start to rust much quicker)

well with the high flow cat your pretty much just silencing the rasp. and i am thinking of getting an 18" resonator, because i was told that a resonator can actually make you lose power so this is why i am getting the high flow cat w/ a small resonator

The cat, high flow or not, is actually a perforated blockage. You pretty much can't even see thru an OEM cat.
This leads me to believe the high flow resonator will flow way better than a high flow cat.

i just recently added dc sports headers to my car...from what i hear and what everyone tells me in the beginning it sounds great like when i play with the gas pedal and clutch a little bit but once i start to move it gets rhaspy and it's annoying b/c it is always there the sound...i have injen short ram and TRD exhaust it sound alot better than my friends greddy evo 2 w/ headers but still a little rhaspy recommend a 30" resonator once i research it more i'm gonna try and get one...
