sorry if this is a repost...

Anyways, i just bought a used zpi catback from someone. It gots a pretty big resonator on it, magnaflow that is. Welded and everything. So we just actually finished putting it. And yes it is 12:30AM...

Anyways, Here's what's in my car. K&N CAI, AW header, and now the Zpi catback. No s-pipe yet... thinking of buyin it soon...

We test drove the car ... and it is VERY loud and raspy inside. I'm telling VERY loud and raspy. Not only that like the whole car inside rattles lolz. But there's a good side to this. The sound sounds very very deep outside. Its not annoying... Its just deep. If i get a chance i'll try to put video!

Here's my question...

I dont like how its loud and raspy inside... You guys think S-pipe will help me out on that?

Or maybe i just got use to be being inside the car lol... Either way I owned a car with exhaust before and this never happend. Very loud inside, raspy, and everything seems to be rattling lol. BUt outside the exhaust is nice and deep...

I really wish S-pipe can help me out.. what do you guys think????

i'm sure a s-pipe would just make it louder. just put another resinator on it.

i know i know

it has to be leaking some where becosue when i built my exhuast and ran it for 2 days with a leak after the resonator it was loud in side and vibrated the ____ out of the seat and all the change in the cup holder

once i fixed the leak though it was fine no more vibraiting

so i would look for a leak (that is just from my experiance)

with the aw alot of ppl have had an issue with the runners on the header vibrating against each other so it might be that but also the spips is said to help but i dont realy belive that

maybe look in to a better resonator or an extra resonator

well there's a huge magnaflow resonator before the tip of the exhaust... you know how the zpi looks like >.< lol... from far away behind my car u'll see a huge round thing under my car due to the resonator lol...

maybe adding would help.. i have a friend selling zpi for 120 i'll be picking that up, but i guess if its annoying ill be adding another resonator. I got a Q tho, where would i be adding it?

but as for today, ill check for leaks...

wait you have a resonaitor after the muffler on the zpi?? doesnt seem like there would be room for that on there

you sure your not talking about the muffler??

and as far as the resonaitor add it any where it fits after the spipe and before the gastank most likely under the front seats

well... pretty newb here.. so sorry if doesnt make sense...

I have the middle pipe then the axleback... basically its the whole catback.

the resonator im talking about it on the axleback area.

it goes like this... R = resonator , T - exhaust tip

====[ R ]=[ - T

basically its like that... It's a huge magnaflow resonator...

there's also a smaller resonator on the middle pipe...

i bealive its a muffler

and sorry to jack a pic from your site zpi

but if you can get pics of yours then that would be cool

since you have been driving for a while on it look for like carbon build up on the pipe near welds or near where the axle back portion connects to the mid pipe

and keep me updated

I'll post pics when i get home from work. I actually just got this one last night. I got it used from someone. that round oval part before the tip is welded tho, the guy got a magnaflow one. (well it sez magnaflow in it) since they weld it its not jdm looks lol the tip is pretty much straight lol. BUT i will post some pics...

and your right i may need to install resonator lol.
any idea how big?

Ouch.... this is just the classic AW Header with Aftermarket muffler problem we've all seen... The only real solution for this issue is to either add a 30" magnaflow resonator in the cat back section, before the muffler... or go back to a stock header setup.

The only luck we've had is the Megan Racing Header with the PrecisionMuffler.com axleback, which produces no rasp for me... all the others seem to have a little to a lot... without that additional resonator

here's some pic i took earlier today, when we installed the spipe...

spipe was scratched.. got it used.. according to them the guy had a lowered car..

i gotta say spipe kinda lowered the shakin inside the car.. but its still LOUD and annoying inside the car... very... I am getting a magnaflow resonator prolly tomorrow and i wish it will help. It feels like my whole body is getting a massage when i step on the gas lol.

I have a video of what im talking about.. I will post it tomorrow, cus the site seems to be down atm...

Okay i have a dilemma... about getting a resonator... like i said, i have a k&n cai, AW header, zpi spipe, and zpi catback exhaust. -.- so let me get this straight, i am running without a cat converter, making the car straight pipe all the way. I talked to some people from a car shop, and they told me about having a resonator . They would burn off. since the car is straight pipe all the way it can produce a backfire o.O

Now I have so much options here...

one.. I am scared that my catback will burn off which makes me buy a WHOLE NEW exhaust. is it true?

second.. should i just go back and start all over again... I mean if i wanna be safe, i will sacrifice my header and go back to stock headers.

third.. as for resonator, becuase my main point really is pretty much quietting down my exhaust as much as possible, prolly eliminating "some" rasp... Does it matter on a resonator? which kind? will it burn out soon?

fourth.. is these all worth it? Or should i juss redo everything-.-a
